SEC S15W5: "My Country and Her Mineral Resources."

I belong to Pakistan a south Asian country. It's full name is Islamic Republic Of Pakistan, where Muslims are in majority. We have four neighborings: India at East, Afghanistan at West, China at Nort and Iran at South. We have too good relations with all the neighboring, but sometimes some clashes come up with India.

The total Land of our country is 790096 KM square. Their are four provinces or you can call them semi states.in Pakistan; Baluchistan, Khyber pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh. Pakistan is an agricultural country and is Said to be I think the 6th largest agricultural country in the world. It has a population of 250 millions and also the 5th largest country in the world (population wise).

This country has too many God gifted things in it. It's blessed with all the four seasons of the year, which is very less to see in the other countries. It has vast forests, have the six highest mountains in the world, many sea banks and some major desserts too. Their are vast resources of Gas and crud oil, and coal in our country. We have the world second largest Dam (Turbella) in the world.

As I have mentioned out country is blessed with too many natural gifts by God to us. We have everything here in our country. Let me count you here one by one.

Agricultural Land
Having a vast agricultural land with a country is a blessing for a country. My country have more than 40% agricultural land, you can use for cultivation. Plus good point is that we have the world second best irrigation system.

Water Bodies
Water is also a major resource for a country. A country rich with water is said to be the luckiest one. As I have said we have the world second largest Dam in our country. Glaciers are also abundant in Pakistan. Saciachin glacier is the biggest glacier in our country. When it melts, it gives water to the dams and Rivers.

Dessert and mountains
Tar Dessert is the biggest dessert in our country. It has the world largest coal resource in it. I have read it somewhere, it was mentioned that it's something millions of Tons coal there. Unfortunately we don't have macheniry to extract it. Pakistan have six world highest mountains in the world. K2 is one of them which is world second Tallest in the world. These mountains great source of glaciers in it, which help Pakistan to overcome the issue of water scarcity.

Gas and oil Resources
A place at Baluchistan called Sui has the largest resource of oil and gas in our country. It is that much major project that it gives gas to the entire country. It is said that for a country like Pakistan this gas is enough for 500 years. We have other major resource at other place of Khyber pakhtunkhwa, we call it Karak. Their gas and oil had been extracted in abundant quantity.

Gold and other metal resources
The largest gold mine in Pakistan is also at Baluchistan, The recodic mine. It has gold and metals in abundant quantity. Unfortunately we can't utilize this mine too. At Waziristan we have huge resource of Copper. The world best quality copper is extracted from there, but unfortunately Pakistan Army doesn't allow civil investors to invest in it. I don't know why.

Sea Ports
We have too many sea Port. Karachi Port ( Muhammad Bin Qasim port), Gawadar port and have some other too.

With quite unfortunate tune I have to say we as a nation are failed to utilize these natural resources. Only the gas resource at Sui we are utilizing it properly, I don't know how it happens even. Maybe a mericle.

Let's come to water resources, we are failed to store water for us. The water of glaciers coming to us, we waste it and all the water goes to the Sea. After 1965 we haven't constructed a single Dam. The same I have told we are failed to extract coal from the dessert of Tar. Even nothing happens these too. No one talks about it even.

We have no machinery to extract gold from recodic. If a country come and want to invest, they give conditions which are not suitable for our country. Like they say 60% profit is our and 40% or something 30% is yours. Our Gawadar port, also called a mini Dubai another country is making for us. China is investing in it.

I will again say no. Our state is badly failed to utilize these resources and use it for the welfare of it's citizens. How it comes welfare if they are not even giving any importance to these resources. Let mesupport my argument with this example. We are the world 6th largest agricultural country in the world and still we important wheat from other countries. We important fruits from Afghanistan, vegetables from India. It's just because we don't have a proper set up.

The state has been occupied by landlords, Dictators and corrupt Mafia. They don't let the common people to grow raise. They all have money and all their properties and capitals in abroad countries. The politicians, Army Generals, Bearocrates all are dis-loyal to the country.
