SEC S15W5: My Country and Her Mineral Resources.

Greetings Everyone, This is SHOHANA From #Bangladesh

Before writing about this topic, I had less idea on mineral resources. My conception is now developed as I research on it and take time to understand it completely. For me it was like source of mineral water only but mineral resources are not only about resources that gives us mineral water. Mineral resources can be natural gas, gold, oil, coal, metals, stone, sand and many more that we mostly found under the ground or surface.

Today I'm going to talk about mineral resources and it will be about my own country. Once upon a time Bangladesh had plenty of mineral resources and we had no need to import it from foreign country but as the world become global village so import and export mineral resources is very common.

Though my country is small but it has significant number of mineral resources that made our life easy and help us earning foreign currencies too.

Give us a brief introduction about your country.

Bangladesh is a south Asian country and my motherland. We have good number of mineral resources even when it is small by size. We have natural resources that made our environment livable and our country is well known for having rivers in it. Our green landscapes, rivers and naturally beautiful environment gives us suitable environment to live. Bangladesh is densely populated country and people here can easily adjust with the environment we have. Learn more about Bangladesh here

What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with

The significant mineral resources of Bangladesh are, natural gas, coal, peat, sand, heavy mineral sand, white clay, glass sand, limestone deposits and construction rocks (including stones and gravels found in riverbeds and the construction rocks deposited underground). Beside these some other mineral resources can be found but maybe those are not sufficient amount to be mentioned.

Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed

It should be fully harnessed as there is no news or rumor on misuse of mineral resources yet. Natural gas is the most popular mineral resource in Bangladesh and the distribution of it on responsible hands. Yes, I'm talking about our government and the way they using it maintaining a balance. Not sure but we can export some of mineral resources when we have plenty of it. It contribute to our economy and that is most important to us.

Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens...support your answer (Yes/No) with good points.

Well I think I already answer this above and the answer is yes! There is no record or rumor on misusing mineral resources though I have no idea if there any bad history or record can be found against our government on misusing of mineral resources. Government of our country already investing huge money to develop our country in many sector like they build bridges on river, launch metro rail and working to make our lifestyle more updated and digital so yes government using our resources fairly and we citizens are pleased on our government for developments.
