Hello everyone,
I welcome you all to my blog on this special day. I'm particularly happy to share this with steemians all over the world most especially steemians here in Nigeria and those who make posts in the @steem4nigeria community. I want to believe you will find this article interesting and key into the moving train.

A long time ago, the steemit team through the @steemitblog published an article titled Introducing Promoted Content, where the initiative to promote content in the steem blockchain was brought on board. The article explains that anyone can promote his or her content by burning some SBD to @null. When you promote this article, it will appear on the /promoted page.

This initiative has been on board for quite a long time but because curators don't show much support to it, it gradually went aware. Looking at the current situation of the steem token, a lot of initiatives have been deployed to see that the price of steem moves upward and that is the reason why we have the initiative of the club status which helps steemians to hold more steem.

During one of the engagement challenges, where we are asked to propose a new project for steemit, one of the authors wrote about the burnsteem initiative which was also an old initiative that has long been forgotten by this generation of steemians. Because of the response by @steemcurator01, on the idea to start burning steem again many persons keyed into the initiative.

Another author with the username @remlaps about 3 months ago during his research stumbled on the promotion article again and then decided to try it to promote his article. But he notices that not many people are aware of the /promoted page.

About 29 days ago, @o1eh brought a discussion title something useful for blockchain and in the course of this discussion, SC01 attention was drawn and one of the initiatives the talked about is the post promotion initiative which @steemcurator01 said the team will give it a trial. The screenshot below is the response given by SC01 about the discussion.

Steps to promote your Post

I have left links to some of the articles which talked about this initiative above. This time I want to carry us on a tour of how we can promote our post and see it on the /promoted page.

  • After publishing your article, you have to copy the permlink

  • Go to your wallet and in the area of SBD, click transfer.

  • You will be transferring at least 0.001 SBD to @null. Note the higher the SBD you use in your promotion the higher your post goes on the /promoted page.

  • The memo field must be filled in this other to get your post to /promoted page. @author/permlink

Caution

When filling the memo, it has to be in the same way as I have stated above else your promotion may not work. You have to start by writing @author followed by a forward slash "/" and then the permlink. Be sure that you don't copy this link alongside the HTTP tag. And be mindful that you can only burn SBD for promotion, if you burn steem, the promotion will not work and you can not recover your steem since it is an account that is owned by no one.

The screenshot below shows the procedure to promote a post and see it on the /promoted page. One interesting thing about this promotion is that anyone can promote any article he likes even if it's not his or her content.

Conclusion

The steemit team are looking out for more quality article to be promoted. Recently, they have done a lot of bonanzas but right now the votes will completely depend on the quality of the article and the amount of SBD burned to promote the article. I call on my fellow steemians to start creating good and quality content and promote it by burning SBD.

It's our responsibility to join the #burnsteem25 initiative and also support the /promoted page by constantly visiting it and burning some SBD. In that way we can be part of the inflation-fighters who's major aim is to see that the steem token rises.

Very useful, the higher sbd you sacrifice the higher the attention from the Steemit team,

but note vote is still not guaranteed,

I totally understand this lesson but I have a question, what if one decided to send SBD to @null but didn't set some percentage of his payout to @null ist still achieving the same motive?

Yes you are still achieving same purpose. Your post will be seen in the /promoted page.

Ok is fine thank you for the explanation

Always welcome

This is really a very good initiative. I once read a write up on this sometime ago. Am glad you're bringing it back. Thanks for the awareness. It's a good one.

Thanks my friend for reading through the publication and finding it useful.
