What do you understand about Family Planning?

The word family planning means to control the birthrate that happens within a family. Planning means to have a goal or target and a process towards achieving that goal or target.

Since family has to do with father mother and their children, here the parents which is the mother and the father come into an agreement as to the number of children they wish to born and that is what we call family planning.

When the woman and the man comes into agreement that they don't need a child again at the moment, the woman will then go to the hospital where she may be given some injection which will help prevent the eggs from fertilising during an intercourse and that is what I understand by the word family planning.

Do you think countries should regulate their population using Family Planning? How do you think that will help them? Explain.

Yes I think countries should regulate their populations through family planning based on the current hardship we are experiencing in the country at the moment. In countries like Nigeria especially in the northern part you will notice a man giving birth to almost 20 children and at the end won't be able to care for them as they will start from a very tender age begging on the street.

This has affected the country so much as we see beggers all over and the over population also causing a lot chaos since most of them are not doing anything they end up become thief's and threat to the community. So if the country implore this act of birth control then the country will be on check.

Do you encourage family planning? Tell us your reasons.

Yes I encourage family planning and my reason are not far fetched. With family planning, it is easier to reduce the number of children that a family can give birth to and also with family the family involve can mange and become successful in their doings i.e., sending the children to school and doing other things.

Family planning helps to checkmate the number of children that are born within a family and also it enables the family to cater for the once the have effectively as they will provide good food, school and shelter to them.

So this and many more reasons are why I encourage family planning the most. So if you are going into marriage you should probably think of it considering the current economic situation.

Tell us about some of the methods or types of family planning you know or have heard of.

The family planning I know of include the one that has to do with drugs taking by the woman or an injection to prevent her eggs from fertilising whenever she has any sexual intercourse. Here in Nigeria these are the two methods of family planning we have.

Though it is important to mention here that you will need to always go back after some period to take the injection or drugs again as it has a period of expiration. So once the period is due, it is your duty to go back and take another and you continue it that until you are ready to have a child or children.
