My Neighborhood Watch #15 - Reporting Events Around us

Welcome to my blog

I will be reporting a particular thing that occurred in my environment last week Saturday, it wasn't something bad, but s very wonderful weekly activity. I have been absent few days ago so am fully back and ready to participate in as many contest as I want. I thank @xkool24 for organizing this contest and is good that we are currently on the 15th week of this contest.

A successful washing and cleanup

This activity occurred in my church on Saturday which was the last day of September this year. My elder brother and I went to church as usual and we joined the rest in the washing and clean up activity as we came late. I was happy that a large number of altar servers came out that day. Other people were inside the church doing some few cleanup as well as because the following day which was Sunday, visitors will be coming to our church.

Choir members from different catholic church in my area will be having a denary meeting in our church and they will also attend the mass before the meeting. Some of my fellow altar servers were washing vestments, scapular and others, some were cleaning the candle stand, cutting grass, fetching water, sweeping and mopping, arranging wardrobe and others. We were all doing these things with joy.

Our leaders were very busy as they were just supervising us and also doing their own task. Some of the boys who loves playing all the time were just making things difficult for our leaders as they don't like staying at a place, everytime they will be running up and down and making out leaders shout too much.

I was watching vestments and I really washed many that day. Each time we wash we normally spread the vestments on the rope so that sun can touch them, we were just happy that sun shined throughout that morning and afternoon because our vestments will dry on time.

I even forget to say that few persons were watching the spare shoes and sandals we normally use for serving mass. I wasn't able to take much pictures that day as I was warned several times to keep my phone and focus on my work. My elder brother who's the president, had lots of opportunities to take pictures so he has alot of pictures concerning what happened that morning.

As soon as we were done with cleanup and washing, we went inside the church and gathered at one corner where we can get selected for serving mass. I was selected because my inner white vest for serving mass is bad so I will be buying a new one next week. Immediately my elder brother was done with the selection, we prayed and went home. Am glad the washing and cleanup was successful.
