Contest Result: Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 27: My body, my choice

Hello friends,

We were thrilled to read your perspective in the controversial, complex and emotionally charged issue related to the ideals common among feminist right activist who are fighting for women's right to control their own bodies.

We had those in support and those against the idea that a person should be at total liberty to decide on issues of health, reproduction, gender, abortion and other related issues that affects their body. We had a lot of arguments that were very thought-provoking, and some were particularly convincing or well-reasoned.

Some entries like that of @eveetim had its perspective rooted deep in religion.

My strong claim is according to the Holy Bible, in 1 Corinthians 7:4, which states:

"The wife's body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife."source

Some of the participants only partially agreed with the bodily autonomy argument.

It depends on whether one is married or single, if one is single then I agree with bodily autonomy. Being single the responsibility of keeping your body the way you like is under your control.

We also had @yhudy who is of the opinion that having good self esteem is key.
