The Use Makeup and Cosmetics.

Hello friends and fellow Nigerians, happy weekend from Lagos Nigeria. I bring you greetings from all my neighbors here.

And today I am glad to be making my entry in this amazing contest by @manuelhooks.

In this contest we are to talk about makups and cosmetics.

In my own definition, makeup is any external substance applied to the body to beautify the body.

Makeup is not just limited to women alone, men also makes up.

There are different ways people makes up. And there are different instruments of makeup.

For men, having a haircut and shaving their beards is part of makeup.

Applying perfumes, rollon, body sprays and creams are also part of makeup.

For women, hair making, face painting, artificial eyes, lashes, nails etc are part of our makeups.

Putting on body sprays, creams, perfumes, rollon etc are also part of lady's makeup.

Jewelries too are part of makeup.

Like I previously said, make-up is any external substance that one applies to his body for beautification.

Yes, I have some makeup items that are part of my culture.

My cream, jewelries, powder and eye pencil are all part of my culture.

Before the advent of civilization, the people from my tribe have their native way of making up.

My people loved beads so much which was their jewelries then.

They also applied some native creams and light facial makeups with locally made eye pencil.

But as civilization came, those beads were made away with and we all migrated to modernized jewelries and other modern ways of making up.

The aspect of makeup borrowed from other cultures by my people are fixing of artificial eyes, eye lashes, nails, wigs, perfumes, rollon, body spray etc.

Yes, there are makeup for specific events and dresses.
Though for me, I prefer light makeup for all events.

But for every event, there is a specific dress code for it, so is the makeup.

A makeup to a corporate meeting/office is not the same for a church service or wedding.

So for each event, there is a dress code that suits it and there is a makeup that also suits it.

Yes, both men and women uses makeup.

Like I said earlier, makeup is not limited to women though it depends on our definition of makeup.

But for me, any external substance one applies to their body in other to look better is a makeup.

So men applies lots of external substances such as cream, perfume, body spray, powder etc.

And automatically in my own definition, men do makeup.

I am very much ok if my spouse makes use of a makeup, though it depends on the type of makeup he would love to use.

If it's makeups that is meant for men such as perfumes, creams, body spray, powder, neck chains, I don't mind.

Light makeups are simple facial makeups. It does require loads of foundations and paintings on the face.

Just powder, eye pencil and lipstick is enough for light makeups.

Someone like myself, I prefer light makeup a lot, just as seen in my below picture.

This is also called a loud makeup. The makeup is so obvious that it attracts attention.

This is makeup by so many ladies where the facial painting is so much and at the same time beautiful.

This kind of makeup is applied in excess. Most times it doesn't blend with the colour of the person wearing it.

Some other times, it makes the person wearing it to look like a masquerade.

Yes I am aware that some persons especially men appreciates makeup on strangers but restrict their spouse from wearing one.

Some of the men that does this has insecurity issues.

Some of them feels that when their wives wear this makeup, she would look too beautiful and get attracted to other men.

So to make the woman not to look attractive to other men, they restrict their wives from wearing makeups.

Some Tattoos are makeup while others aren't. But it depends on the motive behind the tattoo. Because most tatoos are diabolic.

But some other persons does it because of fashion as part of their makeup. I don't actually see anything wrong with it though.

The use of makeup and cosmetics is good, it adds a touch of beauty to the original beauty of the user.

Though everyone need to find out the type of makeup that suits their skin type.

For me, I prefer light makeup, which might not go well for some other persons.

Though most persons do abuse the use of makeup, by applying excessive makeup. At the end of the day, they will be looking like a masquerade.

Meanwhile makeup and cosmetics are good, it adds elegance, beauty and class to the user.
