Briefly explain Transparency to a layman's understanding

To explain transparency in layman's terms, transparency is being clear, and visible, allowing light to pass through, or being truthful with information and activities. A transparent glass one that allows light to pass through it, a transparent communication is one that is truthful and sincere without any form of lies. Cryptocurrency is regarded as transparent because it is open, and there is clarity in how it operates. A business is said to be transparent if the business is opened in its operation and is accountable for its action thereby gaining the trust of its customers. In relationship, transparency has to do with sincerity, openness, truthfulness, and clarity in every actions and inactions in the relationship. Transparency is when two friends can be truthful to themselves thereby allowing them to be able to vouch for themselves. In marriage, it has to do with both spouse being sincere with one another without any skeleton in their cupboards.

What is your opinion on the need for transparency in marriage and other relationships

Transparency is the fuel to loyalty in any relationship. Every relationship should be built on truth, and sincerity, which are the characteristics of transparency. Relationship can come in many froms, from marriage, friendship, business patner, family, and so on. In all of this type of relationship, nothing beats being transparent at all time with another.

As a child, my dad instilled the habit of telling the truth about everything, and he ensured that if I or any of my siblings were going out, we tell them the exact place we were going to. They wanted to be able to vouch of us at all time. There was a time a family friend called my dad, and told him that he saw at a friend's birthday party, he was so surprised that my dad mentioned the name of the celebrant, the location of the party, the cloth I wore, and the time I left the house. My dad told him that we do not hide things from them because they had always told us that they want to be able to vouch for us at all times.

In marriage, transparency is important. I involves telling your spouse everything that they need to know. It is no doubt that a lot of men like to be secretive even when they are faithful in the relationship. This secrecy usually have to do with job, business and contracts. They do not always want to disturb their spouse with their problem and this can be detrimental at the end. One example of this was a friend who lost her father and after the burial the bank came and took over their properties. her mother never knew that her father ever took a loan from the bank or had a business to do with a bank. it was a depressing situation at that point, because the father was not transparent with his wife and children.

In a case whereby one party finds out the other persons keeping secrets, what do you think should be done?

The first thing to be done is for the guilty party to tender an apology. Sorry can do a lot of emotional healing to a person as simple as it may sound. The next thing that should be done is for the guilty party to come out straight without any form of lies or secrecy. The guilty party should be truthful and work to build the trust of the other party even though it would be very difficult to build the trust back because trust is earned.

Have you ever been in a relationship that lacked transparancy? If yes, What did you do? But If no, what would you do?

Yes, I have been in a relationship which lacked transparency. I had a friend would not tell me the nitty gritty of some things that we were involved in. I would plead with her to help me get some food stuff from the grocery store or from the local market and she would but then I realize that anytime she went to the market, she would always inflate the price of goods she was buying for me while when I go to the market, it would be a different price. So one day, i decided to find out the truth. I followed her to the market, and gave her the funds to buy some stuffs while I buy other things. When she was done with buying things at a place, I asked the seller for the actual price, and I penned them down in my book. When we got home, I realized that she had inflated the price of each item with about 30% and I was shocked. I just told her she wasn't sincere and I gave her proof. She denied, and was angry that I accused her while she was only trying to do me a favour. I understood her and stopped entrusting her with anything financial even though we still talk but the relationship has drastically reduced compared to prior before the comforntation.

Can truth be hidden forever ?

Depending on the scenario. In some cases, the truth will come to light, but in some other cases too, the truth could go to the grave. So many people can keep secrets that would never get out to the light and this is because they keep it to themselves. So the question "Can truth be hidden forever ?" is a double edge sword that can be Yes or No, depending on the scenario and the truth being hidden.
