It's Monday, Mondays usually have a busy feel about them as everything is fast paced but this Monday was one from a weekend to forget and also started with a terrible accident.
Due to the recent heat, everyone was waiting for rain to start falling again and when it started last week or two weeks back, everyone was excited. For the first time in a while, people no longer talk about the disadvantages of the rain; the ground gets mashy since the mud gets wet and you could have to loose hours waiting for rain to reduce or you'll be soaked in a tricycle going to work or coming back from work, water also doesn't flow out instantly due to poor drainages
However, the raining season is one season vehicles are not expected to be on a very high speed as anything could go wrong at the slightest. It was a weekend with two fatal accidents. One involving a taxi cab and the other a tricycle (Keke).
The cab had a passenger boarded (a woman and three children), and was at the entry routes of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital. The driver lost control of the vehicle as he was on a quite high speed and ran off the road. The cab driver lost his life on the spot. The passengers have not been confirmed dead but have injuries. While the other was a tricycle on speed lane with a sienna trying to overtake the tricycle, the sienna driver who was in a hurry and then offended shoved the Keke abit as it was passing, the keke ran into a long truck (carrying goods) that was packed by the road and another death was recorded instantly on the spot this Monday morning.
The weekend had to be over soon so people would move and forget the weekend then hit by another blow this morning.
The Monday started quite dull, the local market took some time to get filled up and due to the prices of things, the market wasn't as full as it usually would be.
It's been raining almost everyday and we usually don't have power supply when it rains so we really hope we'd get to see power supplied soon. Other than this, the small businesses still opened as everyone is striving for a better day and a better economy. Children in schools have all started exams as schools look to take break before the week of Easter.
I'll like to invite @adachukwu @uduak01 @tripple-e to take part of this contest.
