Hi,
My country people and every other steemians across the globe, I trust you are all doing great.
It is another week of accelerator contest and we are in week 57, all thanks to @steem4Nigeria for organizing.
What gender do you prefer your child to be?
I'll say both because I'm not going to have just a "child" but "children" by the grace of God.
Because His word says "children are the heritage of the Lord".
Now let's look at the hint questions;
👯Boy or girl child, which do you think is more expensive to train? Give your reasons
I will say a boy child. There's a saying in my dialect that says "abobok ayen owoden tutu akpa" meaning that "you will take care of a boy child till you die".
So I'll agree to this assertion; because in some families or even culture male children are often expected to stay with the parents either to receive some financial support or are adviced to take up the family business, hence getting fed by the parent on regular basis.
I know raising a girl child while growing up can be expensive initially maybe because of how God wired us, we are wired to look fancier and attractive 😀 but with time the responsibilities decreases; because at a time a girl child would become independent either by the reason of marriage or for freedom.
When a girl gets married it is no more the parents that takes care of her; the responsibilities has been shifted to the husband; and again if she reaches a marriageable age and there's no husband forth coming I don't think she would want to remain under the same roof with the parents but...
You see a male child he can remain under the same roof with the parents eat from their pot with reckless abandon and no one would pressure him into marriage; why? Because a man can get married at any time. And most especially in the rural areas, it's very common there, they will remain in their father's house still getting fed and if they decides to marry, some would bring the wife into their parents house and the parents would still feed both him and the wife.
🧑🤝🧑If you were to be a parent today, which gender do you prefer to have as your children? Give us your reasons
Design with grid art
Although I love girl children but I'll prefer to have mix gender; my mother gave birth to six female children so I have already experienced having girls as company in the persons of my sisters and i also have the idea of what it entails to raise a girl child.
So now I want to experience the joy of raising both male and female together as I didn't have that privilege of growing up with a brother; I heard male chicken are often possessive of their sisters; so I want to have that experience knowing that I have someone who looks after his sister by protecting her.
You know girls are termed weaker vessels; but are we really weaker vessels in the real sense?😀
Ah! Me like this I want to be somebody's mother inlaw, as my mother didn't experienced that, let me experience it on her behalf na🤣🤣🤣.
That's why I'm praying that God should give me two boys and two girls; equation balanced.
👯During adolescence, which gender shows tendencies to go out of control? Why
It is both; none of them is exempted from this stage. And this is where home training, the fear of God and good morals come to play. So if you didn't lay Godly foundation on your child, sorry would be their names.
Because at this stage you can't cage them, allow them to explore their environment, make mistakes and learn but if you want to use force to control them, you may be fueling up the beast in that child.
Let me use my family for instance: There was one of my sisters that her head use to touch sometimes, she was in school then she will leave the campus and traveled to God knows where, switched off her phone for days. Everyone would be worried sick especially my mother.
So one day she followed her friend to a party unknown to her that the friend's boyfriend was a yahoo boy, they got apprehended by the police. That experience made my sister to retraced her steps.
Now she's a good and responsible lady, that was just youthful exuberance.
🧑🤝🧑What do you think about the statement; "what a boy can do, a girl can do better"?
Gone are the days when the place of a woman was in the kitchen.
So I wholeheartedly support that statement above. Because the statement encourages and also promote gender equality and at the same time challenges the traditional gender stereotypes, it opins that girl or women have the equal rights and capabilities as boys or men to pursue their dreams, aspirations and to excel in whatever areas they choose without biase.
The statement also encourages girls and women to explore their interest to reach their full potentials and also celebrate their achievements and contributions to the society and challenges the future generations to aim for excellent.
But that doesn't mean it should be seen as a yard stick for competition or using the statement to compare genders.
So let's be careful not to deviate from the original meaning of the above statement.

Abobok ayen awuden tutu akem usen akpaha😂😂... it's true shaa, that's what our people say because a female child will be married while the male Child, if not serious with his life will be roaming all over the street and still expecting food at the end of the day. Well, both gender are gift from God. You have a good written content here.

This is interesting, but to me since all these genders are gift from god there no two ways about it because I have seen were the husband abandon the wife in the hospital because of a male child but if only we can catch them young for Christ
