Let's show how creative you are:- Drawing - Chameleon

A chameleon does not actually change its
colour to match with its background for
camouflage,despite the popular belief.
Instead, they change colour based
on their mood, temperature, or as a way to
communicate with other chameleons.

This is my entry for this competition;https://steemit.com/hive-147599/@benton3/winners-for-week-26-or-or-week-27-begins-let-s-do-it-do-it-yourself-drawing

I know I did well😊☺️.

Tools: Black ink, charcoal pencil and eraser..

Omor...
When @bossj23 told me about this contest, I decided to jump in .But after seeing that it's about chameleon, I had this feeling that it'll be had for me, as I would be using just pen and pencil. At least, there should be other colours like blue , green, red, you know na .The whole chameleon thing 😂😂. But, I didn't sha hesitate 😊

So, I started by sketching some thin lines from the head to the tail which is actually hidden behind the body.

Then here, I gave it some shading. But just part of the background and a little at the top of its head. Also some outlining on the eye.

Here, I extended the shading to other parts of the body.

I used the pencil first to give light shading before adding the black ink.

Have you ever seen one?

Yeah... I've actually seen it. It was in my grandma's farm land... She needed company that day, so she asked me to go with her to the farm...
It moves very slow but it's tongue is actually long and it can move it really fast when try to catch its prey.

What is a chameleon like and what does it do to save itself from danger? Does it in any way benefit humans?

A chameleon is a type of lizard which is known to be able to change its colour based on its surroundings, temperature, and mood. They have a specialized skin that contains layers of cells called chromatophores. Thier skin can expand and contract to manipulate the color of the skin. This color-changing ability usually helps them to blend in with thier surroundings, in order to avoid predators and also sometimes to attract mates.

However, it's not only the colour changing ability that helps it stay safe from predators. They also have other adaptations to protect themselves from danger; thier rotating eyes eyes allow them to see in multiple directions all at once, which helps them to stay clear from danger. They also have a long, sticky tongue that can be rapidly projected to catch insects for food. I've talked about this before. The length of their tongue is actually longer than their whole body length.

How they benefit humans

Chameleons have inspired scientists to develop new technologies, such as color-changing materials for camouflage or adaptive optics for improved vision. Also, some species of chameleons are kept as pets, which serves as entertainment and companionship for their owners. Overall, chameleons play an important role in their ecosystems and in some human culture.

I would love to invite @imohmitch @Zekanem and @sampson01 to participate
