DEAR DIARY | FRIDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2023

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing my diary to you all. It has been a very beautiful Friday weekend today and just like everyone else, "THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!" I wish you all a beautiful weekend.

Well, I woke up early asual this morning, did my normal morning chore of fetching water with my roommates, although today again I was a little bit late to go out to fetch.

After fetching water, I took my bath and prepared for our CDS (Community Development Service) activity today. The time for the CDS was from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

At about 8:00am, I had my breakfast so as to get prepared for my CDS. Fridays are usually time consuming days for me cos of this CDS and also a work free day for me as a corp member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of Nigeria.

Today's CDS was a lecture on making air fresheners and Izal (germicide). First we learnt about how to make an air freshener. This was taught by one of our fellow corpers. She really did a great job in showing us how to make an air freshener. She listed the needed things such as water, deodoriser, container, alkanol, catalyst etc needed for it. She went further to also tell us that air freshener containers can be bought from some places so as to make the packing of the finished product look very enticing.

Thereafter, we had another tutorial or lecture on how to make Izal (germicide). This was also done by another corper. She showed us how easy it was to make an izol. I listed some requirements such as Izal powder, water, catalyst, etc. On like the air freshener that need a very nice and standard packaging, this Izal germicide doesn't really need much packaging. She told us we could simply use unused plastics bottles such as the ones by the Coca-Cola company with no drinks cos those are mostly seen around us. She said no need to get or buy containers for packaging, but for a more standard look, one can actually buy packing.

Thereafter, we had deliberations in our different CDS groups and also did handover of power. The C1 set of 2022 are passing out the next 4 to 5 days and they have handed over the next set. Hopefully the new set of leaders will continue the good works they had already been doing. I know you may be curious to know the batch I am in. Well, I'm a Batch B1 2023 corp member, and I'll be passing out July 2024.

The CDS ended some minutes past 2:00pm and when it did, I went to a close by restaurant and had lunch. I ate eba and okra soup. It was really delicious and I had some extra wraps so I could get more filled.

My day was very good. It went well and I enjoyed it. In the evening I had dinner and then just before going to bed, I had prepared this diary so I could write and post it on my blog.
