Greetings everyone, it's nice being on this platform to engage in this contest. In my country nigeria, the economic situation of things are in a dire state. Hardship is experienced everywhere, people complain of hunger each day.

The prices of things keeps on rising drastically. Each day there is a rise in the cost of things, prices of things are doubled with each passing day. For e.g a person might go to buy a food ingredient today at a certain price but goes the next day or few weeks later only to find out that the price has been increased.

Building materials too keeps on increasing in price daily. Those building houses find it hard to progress at a faster rate because of the high cost of the building materials. At the beginning of this year January, the cameroon zinc bought for building our house was 160000 naira, 615.4 steem but currently the price is double that amount if you go to purchase it.

Another building material like the cement has also faced a drastic increase in price. Imagine buying a bag of cement at 5000 naira, 19.23 steem as at january, then few months later the price rose to 8000, 30.8steem, 10000,38.5 steem and also 15000 naira,57.7 steem. As time went on, the price eventually reduced to being 7500 naira, 28.8 steem per bag.

Inflation in the prices of things is the major problem faced by Nigerians today.Petrol also faces a huge increase in price, few months back, Nigerians bought petrol per litre at a much lesser price than currently which is 1600 naira, 6.2 steem. The price of petrol varies in places though. Few weeks back we bought petrol per litre less than than 900 naira, 3.5 steem.

Transport cost has become higher than before as a result. The cost of things get more higher as the price of petrol gets high as well. Petrol is used in transporting various goods for sale which makes the price of the good higher. Those living at far distance find it very hard to cope with the cost of transport. I have a friend who spends 1200, 3.3 steem on transport each day.

It is very difficult and challenging for people to cope with the various hardships experienced in Nigeria. The price of beans at the beginning of this year ranged from 200 to 300 naira per cup, 1.15 steem. But currently the price is double that amount. Imagine buying beans at a price ranging from 500 naira,1.9 steem and 600 naira,2.3 steem. This has cause a lot of poor people to have certain diseases caused from protein difficiency.

The price of sewing machine has also increased in price drastically. Last year my mom bought a brand new sewing machine at 75,000 naira,288.5 steem but currently the price is 165,000 naira, 634.64 steem. The belguim is currently the old price of a brand new sewing machine back then. We face a lot of economic hardship presently in our country, leaving us all in confusion and anxiety when we think about the present system of things.

Well coping with the difficulties in my country is challenging. Currently, i learn to curb down the amount i spend. I buy only the things that are very important, like food, clothing and other important neccesities of life. Whe buying items, i compare prices to avoid being cheated and i also get to buy it at a much favorable price. It is important for one to be contented and not live lavishly, as economizing is the only way to keep ourselves stable in this economy.

Personally, i believe that the reason we are suffering is because we are nearing the end of this system of things. Human government is not the solution to man's problem. It is useless to put faith in the government as there is nothing it can do to remedy the situation we are in. The prices of things keeps increasing on a daily basis and nothing has been done about it, which shows how powerless the government is.

I also believe that the reason for our difficulties is the increase in dollar exchange rate. We Nigerians import a lot of goods for use. Changing from naira to dollar is such a hassle considering the high rate of dollar. So when this goods are being imported the priced of goods gets high as a result of the high price of dollar when converted to naira.

If i have the opportunity to go to another country for greener pastures, like most nigerians i'll love to travel to the US or Canada. Because there i believe with a good degree one can get a good job with a good pay as well. I'll get to have a job that pays me in dollars which is very expensive and the cause of the rise in prices of goods imported to Nigeria.

I'll like to invite my friends @vikkybaby @mesola and @inemesituwah

MODs Comment/Recommendation:

The rate at which the prices of commodity are being inflated is quite alarming. This economic phase is something else, God will help us. I wish you the very best in this contest.
