The diary game: 11-09-2024: A wish come true

It is always a thing of joy for one to complete his or her high school education. Every young children desire for the same as well. You will hear them always say I can't wait to be in ss3, so I will become a senior and graduate. That was the same wish I had back then and I am very grateful it came to pass.

Back then, I admired my seniors a lot in my junior secondary days. I usually envisioned being a senior student, how great it will be. When I was in JS1, I was so thrilled because I finally became a secondary school student having graduated from being a grade school student. I felt so proud of myself and was so happy.

Eventually I began dreaming of a time where I will graduate from high school and that dream finally came to pass. How time flies. I never imagined I was so close to reaching my dreams. I recall saying I still had a very long way to go, but today here I am still coming to terms with the fact that I am done with high school. It is such a great thing to celebrate with friends and classmates.

I got to the venue with my siblings. The graduation was to be held at the new branch of our school at ikot ekpene road. It was a very fine building. We all were amazed by how eye catching the new branch of our school was. On getting there I met with my classmates who all dressed up beautifully for the graduation.

The graduation ceremony began with series of presentations from various students. The school party was mixed as well with the graduation. So students from various classes had presentations. My school consists of the nursery, primary and secondary with two branches which made a lot of presentations possible.

During the course of the events while students were presenting with so much enthusiasm, some parents supported them by dropping few naira notes on the auditorium to motivate them to do more. As time went on I left my sit briefly to check if my mom came. When I got outside with my best friend, I saw my mother who urged me to take a picture.

I'm not a photogenic type, so I didn't feel quite enthusiastic to take a picture. While waiting for my mom to return from getting a photographer, I and my friends there talked and shared light jokes. Eventually my mom returned with the photographer. We began taking the pictures and soon after we finished. My mom was so happy regarding the fact that I was graduating and made sure that everything went well.

After my mom was satisfied with the pictures, she left while I stood and gisted with my friends because inside was still about presentations from students. Later after all the various presentations in store for the event. It was time for the acknowledgement of various graduating students ranging from the nursery 2 class, primary 5, js3 and we ss3.

We the main graduating students went on stage and music was played for us to dance, as it was our day of celebration. We danced happily as never before, we were so happy regarding how far we've come. The up's and down's we've been through during our exams and other challenges that we seniors faced and had overcome made us so overjoyed.

After that, the proprietor gave a speech for we outgoing students which lasted for a while and afterwards presented gifts to the graduating students as well. Prizes were given to the best students in the academic year. Gifts were given to the graduating students who performed brilliantly in each subjects.

Prefects for our session were given gifts as well. As the assistant senior prefect I was surely entitled to a gift as well which made me so glad.
I took pictures with my favorite teachers who I'll miss a lot. It was fun and interesting being their students.As time went on everything came to a wrap with everyone of us taking pictures together with our school's alumni as well who came to the event.
