Hello friends and welcome to my blog today, it's been a while since I made my regular post-practice posts, I know you missed me, but not to worry I am back after 2 weeks of no practice.

Earlier before I went on this unexpected break I had snapped my racket, I felt the shockwave all over my body when the strings snapped just as I was about to hit a sublime forehand.

I am yet to fix my snapped racket, so I started off with a spare racket, which turned out to be efficient. I was impressed with its performance when I played with it.

I have been playing my main racket for more than 12 months now, it has become an extension of my hand in fact, and adjusting to a new racket with a different length and circumference takes some time.

Or so I thought!!!

This is my coach, I believe you guys have seen him before on one of my previous posts, he's a great and experienced player, his stomach may look quite big but he still manages to play fantastic tennis, i guess he doesn't play with his stomach lol 😂😂😂

We started off with hitting a few straight-line balls in order to improve precision and accuracy, it wasn't easy hitting straight balls, or maybe I wasn't wired to hit straight balls, I have watched a lot of youtube tutorial videos and actually matches and they hardly play straight line balls, they play on opposite sides of the opponents half.

But my coach insisted and we ended up playing straight line balls and it played out at the end of the day to help me gain better precision, especially when playing down the line shots.

Soon we started real business and played a lot of shots off the forehand and the backhand. I rallied a lot and most times had more than 15 shots combination.

My backnad was much better today, the feel and the swing were much better, i guess i eventually figured out what has been causing the issues with my backhand and my forehand too.

It turns out that the whole problem with my forehand inconsistency is my grip. I had a few grip style but never ealled got a comfortable feeling with them. So today i tried out Eastern grip and it was magical, i was able to master this sgrip style in a few minutes after hitting a few good balls, soon i was able to match my coach shot for shot at practice.

My serves are still not what it should be, i decided to focus more on my forehand and backend consistency for the mean time, however i did hit a few serves but they weren't goodballs so i took a break and chilled until my next practice session.

I hope you guys enjoyed my practice session today, i will bring to you guys more update in the coming days and weeks.

I don't know much about long tennis but using my basic knowledge of table tennis I can relate to backhand strikes and front hand strikes. Being a tennis player requires lot of laps and foot fitnees but i hear the energy required to play long teniss is more than that of a table tennis.

This is the first time coming across your post about tennis as a result of my ineffectiveness on engaging with other which has changed now.
I hope to see more of your posts as regards your practice in the tennis. Are you playing for exercise or you want to go pro?
Best of luck

You bet you need more than 4 times the energy required to play Table Tennis. This is a very intense sport and most games last as long as 4-5 hours.

So you defeinely have to pack more than enough energy. Thanks for coming around
