In a layman understanding, we know marriage to the union between a man and a woman to become husband and wife. This union starts with a celebration of the union as we know but some couples don’t know the movie behind the curtain. Some thinks that it’s a bed of roses but the reality is that you have to fight to make it work well. In this article, let’s see more about this subject matter.

Marriage works when the partners understand some principles which govern the institution of marriage. Here are some principles:

• Understanding: Before you sayI do, you need to understand your partner very well. Understanding here might be his or her likes and dislikes, etc. The understanding phenomenon must be upheld to secure the success of the marriage
• Proper communication: The truth is don’t expect your partner to be a magician. Magician in the aspect of knowing what you want. Rather you must speak out telling your needs or other issues in a proper manner.
  How can couples improve communication in their marriage
  Communication being an important principle must be upheld in marriages. Here is how to improve it:
• Establishment of a branded name: Calling your partner by his or her branded name has the potential of fostering efficient communication in that marriage.

Trust is very important that it is usually asked in the courtship period. Its importance cannot be underestimated in a marriage or any relationship. Its major importance is that the partner can relay secret or confidential information to you. If you trust a person, you can believe that your secret is safe with the person. So, if trust is established in a marriage, then the marriage is good to go.

Sometime conflict is a normal thing in marriage since one or two important factors guiding the marriage can slide off. But in navigating a conflict in a marriage, one should not bring in third party into the conflict. To avoid further issues, it should be in a personal room. The person at fault should apologize and the other follow suite. After the conflict, they should learn what caused it and to prevent future occurrence.

Distance or cultural difference shouldn’t be a problem because of the existing understanding. If each partner has the capacity to understand each other, then it shouldn’t constitute a problem.
