My day in pics and words was the best description caption I could give. It was remarkable as events unfolded and unforgettable moments on my way back to base. It was quite stressful experiencing the hassle of public transport after a long time.

My journey started on Tuesday, the eve of my diary report to be shared with us. It all happened in a flash given my miscalculation for this event after planning with the celebrant family. However, I had to reschedule all my plans within the city as the journey took me out of town.

We all went to the village where the traditional wedding was to take place and it was super dope with all the arrangements therein. It was a smooth ride down the villa despite some little tyre noises that I heard while driving. I was able to manage the anyway and got there safely.

The event started though a little late. The deco agent was able to fix the decoration of the area used for the event quite easily as he was there on time. The cook also came on the eve of the event and got all that was required for the cooking reading and all steamed for easy preparation for the next day.

It was just a few minutes past the hour 2 pm when the inlaws arrived at the view, they were entertained in the sitting room with this service as the first line of contact before kick-starting the full-day refreshment. Immediately this was done, the inlaws were welcomed before being taken to the family house at the other end of the road for the usual payment of dowry.

This took about an hour plus to get all on the list fully deliberated and sorted out. It was fun-filled with agreements and disagreements. The fun of this was that, in the end, all were amicably handled, and the full course of the traditional ceremony started.

The bride was asked to come out and dance with Powder where she was accompanied by the mother and her mom's friend. They danced around, pouring powder on the hands of guests which symbolizes welcoming them to the event as required by tradition.

Immediately after this was done, the bride was given a cup of wine and asked to go and serve her husband in the crowd, give him the wine, and bring him to the parents for blessing. This was also fun of the ceremony as many young men were stretching their hands, asking for the drink to be given to them. But just as always, the bride will keep rejecting them and eventually give the wine to the right man.

Refreshments were served and all guests were entertained before left since I was to come back to base that same day. It was a hard experience for me because of the means of transportation I used. It has been a long time since I used public transport for such a distance and it was quite inconveniencing that kept me, mum, all through the journey. My leg ached and I managed that pain all through because we were packed in the car like sardines.

It was a long day, I had my bath, and dinner, and went straight to have my rest.
