Hi community members, it's my humble pleasure to participate in the community's steemit engagement challenge content for S1W1. I welcome you all to my page as I write on this week's contest topic; Welcome Mr. President: We Need a Manifesto from you, What should we Expect?. So I will be heading straight to the business of the day.

The Current State of my Country, Nigeria.

Nigeria my mother Land, is a country blessed with several mineral resources in its abundance. This is a country with over 200 million people and occupies over 900,000sqm of land as well as a largely vast area of land for agricultural purposes. Can we say less that the vast arable land brings forth a high yield during harvest. Over the years, it has shown a comparative advantage in Oil production against all other resources and states but unfortunately makes it a mono-economy. The Nigerian state is a federation with 36 federating units and the Federal Capital Territory which are all subject to a democratic rule. Some of the recent happenings in my dear country are listed below;

Agitations/Marginalization

The state of the nation presently has witnessed several issues which are all still ongoing. These are agitations from the different quarters of the geo-political zones for reasons not other than bothering on marginalization, Injustice, and Equity. This has over time instituted unrest in those regions with civilian, military, and properties lost in the course of this uprising event. Unfortunately, the approach toward stemming this tide has been wrongly taken.

Insecurity and Collapse of Security Structure

The act of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of incessant criminalities are evident proof of a total security breakdown in the country. This has become a source of worry as there is no day that passes by without an attack or life-threatening activity in view. People no longer sleep with their two eyes closed due to this menace. One may attribute this to unemployment, bad leadership, hate speech, political undertones, etc. In whichever case, the nation is already averaging on a very lower measuring scale on the international quota on Police to civilian recruitment and protection.

Inflation & Unemployment

This is one of the dangerous trends that we are currently witnessing in the country today. The cost of living per Capita has gone beyond the average reach of the common man. Food items are no longer affordable to the common man, no doubt the hike in criminality as observed in the country today. Also, youth unemployment has skyrocketed due unavailability of both direct and indirect jobs. Foreign Investors are closing down due to unfavorable business conditions and insecurity whereas both the private and public sectors are incapable of absorbing the thousands of graduating students in the labor market. To mention but a less, the multiple taxations from government revenue agencies, high operating costs due to lack of power as well as poor funding are some of the numerous problems inhibiting the existence of Medium Small-Scale Entrepreneurs (MSMEs).

Corruption and Failed Leadership

In my country today, it has been a battle of the feast where the national treasury is been looted almost to a standstill. Governance in the country is near collapse as there is perceived recklessness in virtually all the sectors. Public servants are seen carting away billions of naira meant for the citizens with a bizarre and kangaroo altitude in the recovery of these stolen funds. Funny enough when some of these high corruption cases are brought to book, there is a political conspiracy to offer them pardon by their fellow political sympathizers. What a shame and scam of the century.

My Suitability for the Position of a President

The Nigerian constitution already has the Not too Young to Run clause that allows one within my age category to assume the office of Mr.President. Looking at my tenacity to handle issues given to my prerequisite experience in various fields of endeavors, I am capable of handling the task from the Presidency. To my CV, I have over 10 years of cumulative working experience in the Banking sector, Telecommunication Sector as well as the Agricultural Sector which gives me a safe landing place to pilot the affairs of the office of the President.

The country is in a state of quagmire now and it needs a complete turnaround to give its citizen a sense of survival. I am an Agricultural Economist who's coming with the Experience of this duo career path and also what happens to be the more pressing concerns of the country indicators to get it out of the woods. My experience, in this case, would be brought to bear in handling the basic problems already observed in the country.

Therefore in all, I am bringing competency, Experience in most key sectors, Economic drivers, and as well practical Agriculture boost to the table to stir the affairs of this country. Not forgetting, as a good negotiator, my collaboration with the West should be my major driver in bringing solutions to the insecurity already ravaging my country through the massive use of technology and intelligence.

Most Pressing Problems and Solutions

Insecurity

Insecurity is one of the major pressing problems in my country today. The terrorist has continued to bombard the North Eastern zone of the country, Banditry attacking and ravaging the North Western Zone of the country, and Kidnappings and Agitations are the order of the day in the Southern part of the country. Not forgetting the North Central zone where there are incessant clashes between the herders and farmers. It is indeed a handful for the nation to deal with. Just a few days ago, bandits were seen firing from a fighter helicopter which is worrisome.

Solution to Insecurity
Bearing in mind that the entity called Nigeria is non-negotiable, therefore ameliorating the security concerns from the different geo-political zones has to be geopolitical zone driven. Just as listed above, a call for all stakeholders in each zone should be my first move immediately and as well as getting grassroots issues discussed and solutions proffered to help nib all concerns from the board. In so doing, its better resolutions concur in a manner that the country does not bleed from its outcomes.

Secondly, the failed security architecture in the country would receive a complete and total overhauling and restructuring. If the community or state policing would be enforced for proactive-ness, that would be in place through constitution amendments. But in whichever case, there would be a massive introduction of technological innovations that would drive the intelligence and activities of the law enforcement agents. Everyone at this point would be held accountable for lapses thereafter.

Unemployment

Unemployment happens to be the mother that births different kinds of criminality in society. They say, an idle mind is the devil's workshop. This adage simply tells us that when these productive youths are idling away, there is every tendency to look out for means of survival and hence the criminality in the society. In some developed countries in the world, there's an unemployment stipend for their citizens who are out of jobs. This is to enable them to roll on until a new offer is gotten. We must not overlook the importance of this policy. This is to remove the overzealousness and survival instinct drive to enter into criminality.

The rate of unemployment is high in my country and this is because of the unfavorable business conditions that saw the exits of most multinationals from the country. This has caused job loss and cuts with some MSMEs winding down due to harsh Ease of doing business policies in the country. Multiply taxation has also seen the untimely death of some of our well-to-do SMEs as well as a lack of funding which has hindered installation of more economic businesses.

Solution to Unemployment
Some of the immediate solutions to unemployment in my country would include a complete change of strategy in fund availability to prospective business startups and support systems during the early stages as well as the installation of viable skill acquisition centers in all states that would be Private-Public partnership driven.

Secondly, the Ease of doing business should be such that would attract foreign investors in a bid of luring them to building industries and cottage facilities that would drive the economic environment and forex. In doing this, emphasis should be based on technology as well as Agriculture which has the capacity of absorbing millions of people if well established.

The government which I will preside over should be able to come up with an Agricultural plan that would be state-based. This would be the driver for each state's agricultural plan in a bid of establishing a partnership between state and federal government with the private sector being the anchor. This would help establish this project from end to end and an Agricultural chain developed which would Economic impactful to all investors.

My Innovations as an Incoming President.

First of all, I should be developing and bringing on board a plan that would help cure the mess already in place in the country. This would give me a sense of direction.

The Electioneering process in the country is in a state of comatose and this is simply because the political class seems to be benefiting immensely from its inefficiency. My administration would bring on board a technological innovation that would automatically take us out of all manner of manual electioneering processes. That is to say, we should be looking for an Electronic Voting System that would help cure the anomaly in the selection process and bad leadership and governance in place. Let us quickly remember that the act of voting is only a pact to this aforementioned problem, the buildup process that comes from party Primaries, and the registration and collection of voting cards would all be restructured for both efficiency and effectiveness. This would go a long way in reducing the chains of problems that come from installing bad representatives who are products of corruption, rule of law violators, retrogressive-minded cabals, etc.

My Second innovation would be geared towards a complete overhauling and restructuring policy on the law enforcement arm. This would cut across to all agencies in order to achieve an inter-agency capacity to police the country and its citizens. We will see a major entrance of technological innovations in the use of gadgets and working tools which are on-the-spot trackers to unravel breaches at all times. We can already see the current security situation in the country vis-a-vis the civilian to Police quota or military might inherent in the nation, this shows less capacity. More personnel would be onboarded with state of the arts technological training to help combat and stem the insecurity tides in the country.
