Happy afternoon everyone!
I am very excited to be part of the team that founds an academic training space in the midst of a pandemic. EDAT is the acronym for School of Design and Technological Crafts. It is an educational institution that links art and technology. At our headquarters we will form a professional profile defined as "maker" or "digital artisan"

"A Maker" is a creative who deals with a project design activity for serial, semi-industrial or semi-handmade products. A Maker has the knowledge to address design problems and generate creative solutions by combining technology and aesthetics at the service of man. He knows the methodology to face problems, he knows about materials in the market, production systems, stages of production of an object, commercialization; In addition, it has the skills to improve the qualities of industrial products, emphasizing form, function and use.

All this using the possibilities of accessing technological resources: CNC Machines, 3D Printing, Laser, 3D Scanning, Virtual Reality, Internet of Things, CAD Software, among others. A Maker redesigns, communicates, and documents ideas in simple and effective language.

This project has the mission of giving a window of hope to the people in the country (Venezuela). We know that throughout the last decade it has been a time of great difficulties, people have been forced to move and emigrate from the country looking for better life opportunities. In addition to the great economic challenges and the Venezuelan exodus, we have the global pandemic that undoubtedly affects the development of a country. Opening a school with the intention of providing knowledge to young people, which is the driving force of a country, is undoubtedly a valuable project.

Here I share the before and after of one of our academic offices equipped to give our training courses.
