Christmas Cheese:
Ingredients:
Note: it is better to prepare it the night before.
Candied fruits
Blond and black raisins
Prunes, seedless and cut into 4 parts
Cherries in syrup, drained and cut in halves (leave 3 to decorate)
All together must equal half a cup.
Venezuelan aged rum Sliced
almonds and walnuts to decorate (optional)
Procedure : Place the candied fruits, raisins, cherries and plums in a deep dish, leave to marinate in a 1/4 cup of rum, for at least 4 hours.
Remove excess liquid (alcohol) from the strawberries. Make the candy. Once ready and cold, place a thin layer of strawberries on top of the caramel. Here my video for a perfect Quesillo .
After cooking the Quesillo in a water bath for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let cool before putting it in the fridge, where it should spend the whole night or at least 5 hours.
Flip carefully. Ready to serve, toast the almonds and walnuts. Decorate as you see in the photo.
