I'm a fan of anime, but not a fanatic like otakus. It is for this reason that I like to see good anime that are up to my tastes and preferences. And just when I thought I had seen it all, this great work of Japanese anime appears recommended by Facebook (blessed algorithm).

A great production that reminded me of the Samurai X series from the 90s, and especially the ovas, in which the very young character embarks on his path in search of his goal; in the same way, here we will see the main character in search of something even more precious. A resemblance, in the character but not in the plot, that the truth outside of time and place, are very different. And this anime piece I'm referring to is "Dororo".

"Dororo" which translated from Japanese is "Thief", is an anime released in 2019. Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, written by Yasuko Kobayashi and produced by the MAPPA animation studio.

Based on the manga of the same name from 1967, created by Osamu Tezuka known and recognized as "the god of manga", and if you don't know, I tell you that he is the creator of the world famous manga "Astro Boy", also adapted to the anime in 1963.

The warlord Daigo is an ambitious warrior who grants forty-eight demons the forty-eight body parts of his newborn son in exchange for them granting him dominion over Japan, and prosperity for his domains.

The newborn child is abandoned to his fate by order of his father, after this, a doctor rescues him, despite seeing him suffer, he realizes that the child is struggling to live, so he manages to rebuild him with a wooden prosthesis . When he grows older, Hyakkimaru (meaning little monster) decides to recover his stolen forty-eight parts, defeating each of the demons his father made a pact with. In his search he is joined by Dororo, a small orphan thief.

We will see here, the tireless search of the protagonist to complete his humanity, wanting to recover the parts of his body stolen by the demons; but at the same time he will fight against himself, because the price of recovering his body brings with it the debate of not only killing demons but also humans to achieve it.

One of the curiosities is that the name given to this anime or manga work "Dororo" is the name of one of the main characters, but who is the protagonist and who is the focus of the plot is Hyakkimaru.

A combination of history and fantasy, as tender as it is bloody, takes us back to the times of the Japanese feudal era, in a world of superstitions and civil wars. Work of the samurai style but with a very particular plot for the genre, and that will divide the positions and sides of those who see it.

A very important feature is the main characters. In the first instance, we see our protagonist Hyakkimaru, whose characteristic is to be a rock that does not flinch at anything or anyone, without expressing feelings and emotions for almost the entire duration of the anime's history, all this due to his condition.

In his counterpart we have Dororo, a 10-year-old girl, who in turn is the opposite, who after being orphaned promised to move on and survive in that hostile world of samurais, and it is she who becomes the perfect complement and light that guides Hyakkimaru.

Before finishing, I cannot fail to mention its soundtrack with 2 opening and 2 ending, and relaxing music that accompanies the series. But without a doubt, it is the opening and closing songs of the series that steal the show.
