What's up fellows, I hope you're doing very well today, this time I bring you a new artwork about a macaw in nature, as you know I'm drawing some animals for a change and stop drawing so many people, just because it entertains me more, I had almost 7 months without drawing a macaw :) I hope you enjoy it.

Que pasa compañeros, espero les este yendo muy bien en este día, en esta ocasión les traigo un nuevo trabajo artístico sobre una guacamaya en la naturaleza, pues como saben ando dibujando algunos animales para variar un poquito y dejar de dibujar tantas personas, solo porque me entretiene mas, tenia ya casi unos 7 meses sin dibujar a una guacamaya :) espero lo disfruten.

Almost always I draw the sketch by hand, because I don't have a graphic tablet, the process would be very long doing it completely alone with the mouse, so I do the sketch by hand and then create the lineart on top of the sketch, as you will see below.

Casi siempre suelo dibujar el boceto a mano, debido a que no tengo una tableta gráfica, el proceso se me haría muy largo haciéndolo por completo solo con el mouse, por eso hago el boceto a mano para luego crear el lineart encima del boceto, como verán a continuación.

The second step is to apply the base color in the main attraction of the drawing, in this case is the macaw, we apply the red color and start drawing the shadows so that it doesn't look so flat because we want something semi realistic, then apply the shadows corresponding to the red color comes the yellow color, we apply it but we cannot shade with black colors as I did with the red color, we must use orange and gold colors to give that touch of shades necessary in the wings, finally we must place the blue color to finish drawing the wings, here we can return to use the black color to shade.

El segundo paso es aplicar el color base en el atractivo principal del dibujo, en este caso es la guacamaya, aplicamos el color rojo y comenzamos a dibujar las sombras para que no se vea tan plano pues queremos algo semi realista, luego aplicar las sombras correspondientes al color rojo viene el color amarillo, lo aplicamos pero no podemos sombrar con colores negro como hice con el color rojo, debemos utilizar colores anaranjados y dorados para darle ese toque de sombras necesario en las alas, por ultimo debemos colocar el color azul para terminar de dibujar las alas, aquí podemos volver a utilizar el color negro para sombrar.

Landscapes / Paisajes

Now normally I will include some natural landscape in the background, that's why I wanted to draw the macaw perched on a tree branch with leaves in the background, honestly I didn't manage to get my eyes in the background, however I still feel proud of this drawing, as for the painting of the tree we must make lines little by little to give it a rustic texture that trees usually have.

Ahora normalmente incluiré algún paisaje natural de fondo por eso quise dibujar a la guacamaya posada en una rama de un árbol con tipo hojas de fondo, honestamente no logre que me salieran las ojos al fondo, sin embargo me sigo sintiendo orgulloso de este dibujo, en cuanto al pintado del árbol debemos realizar lineas poco a poco para darle una textura rustica que suelen tener los arboles.

We must always pay attention to the shadows and highlights that we must place in all the drawing because if they are wrongly placed they will make the drawing look ugly, the eye painting, we must always do it as detailed as possible because it is almost the soul of the drawing, nothing like a well drawn and illuminated eye, we go on to finish the background with some black shadows on the green, normally I only use paint tool sai but I wanted to try with some photoshop to place something of the effect that I could not capture in the drawing, which was basically a blurred effect in the background.

Siempre debemos colocar atención a las sombras y brillos que debemos colocar en todo el dibujo pues si están mal colocadas harán que el dibujo se vea feo, el pintado del ojo, siempre debemos hacerlo lo mas detallado posible pues casi que es el alma del dibujo, nada como un ojo bien dibujado y iluminado, pasamos a terminar el fondo con algo de sombras negras sobre el verde, normalmente solo utilizo paint tool sai pero quise probar con algo de photoshop para colocar algo del efecto que no logre captar en el dibujo, que era básicamente un efecto de desenfoque en el fondo.

As we are painting in watercolor if you duplicate the drawing layer several times the drawing will become completely uniform, then we do it so that the drawing does not look so opaque, the same with the tree and the background

Como estamos pintando en acuarela si duplicas la capa de dibujo varias veces el dibujo se volverá completamente uniforme, entonces lo hacemos para que el dibujo no se vea tan opaco, lo mismo con el árbol y con el fondo.

Now the only thing we need to do is to give it the glows in the corresponding places, we just need to create a layer with a brightness mode and use the color white with the watercolor brush, in my opinion when adding the glows to a drawing it's basically a before and after, you can notice the difference a lot.

Ahora lo único que nos falta es darle los brillos en los lugares correspondientes, solo debemos crear una capa con modo de luminosidad y usar el color blanco con el pincel de acuarela, en mi opinión cuando le agregar los brillos a un dibujo básicamente es un antes y un después, se nota mucho la diferencia.
