It is quite unlucky for me to have parents that are not inclined in making varied dishes at least so I end-up like trying to survive when eating, like trying to get it over with so I we can see the light of another day.
My mother when she was younger doesn't cook, it was my grandfather that does the cooking according to her while my mother does chores like feeding the pigs, gathering firewoods, de-husking the rice by a big wooden mortar and pestle, then winnowing it after.
My mother only learned to cook a bit via my godmother when she got married. But recentky she was not able to replicate the taste of "Chicken Asado" and does not do that technique that my godmother had taught her for cooking chicken with some vinegar, garlic, fish sauce, and pepper and then frying it after as if she had forgotten about it.

Then as I was seasoning some meat because I wanted it to get cooked the way I liked it she asked me if she would empty out a big pack of MSG in it. I told "what are you thinking? so it just surprised me of her asking me that stupid idea.
I just pray that I won't see my parents having to suffer dementia because it will just be so hard for me to deal with it. We can't be a one group of disabled people living under one roof.
So that is just my situation now which I have to endure even with the kind of meals that I am getting because my parents just do not have the skill to prepare varied meals so that I can eat well because of my appetiteloss issue.
That is why I am trying to space-out my eating time so that I can build my urge to eat plus sometimes ordering the foods that I am craving for so that I can at least enjoy eating once in a while.
Maybe you should just learn to cook!?
