The contest

Walking through the trending #spanish I came across @nelyp's post where he invites us to the contest. I was pleasantly interested in reading more details as there have been many photo contests at Steem but this one makes a difference; it focuses more on the story behind that image than the photo itself.

I even thought she was doing the contest for me, but the truth is that we don't know each other. I say this because most of the time I don't have great stories behind the photos. This can be due to the fact that I take a lot of them and the back of the camera is almost the same; a model for a portrait, the park itself, etc.

I'm not saying I don't have stories. I do have them and they are very good, but they are special sessions that I dedicate exclusively to the models telling their story. In this post I tell the story that came up at that very moment and without previous planning.

The picture

I was with @enmy recording a video for the last photo session and where I interviewed her about her experience with fibromyalgia (video I owe you, I know). We finished recording and I put away the tripod and when we were leaving I asked her why we didn't make a video for @rutablockchain where we told what was happening in Steem.

I put the tripod back together and put it in position. We set up @enmy's phone to record the video. We started to tell and express what was happening on Steem since Justin's purchase.

We were finishing the video with a length of less than 10 minutes when suddenly we see a dry branch moving on the phone. We thought it had fallen out of the tree and got caught on the cell phone.

Suddenly it kept moving and we realized it wasn't a branch, but a mantis. We kept talking to the camera and wanted to touch it, take pictures and play with it.

We couldn't resist the temptation and included it in the video. We had to say that we had a visiting companion who came to watch our video and when it was finished, we started taking pictures of it.

I was delighted with every pose she did and I kept taking pictures of her. In fact all the ones I show you are straight from my phone and they don't have any kind of editing.

It was an incredible moment with this exotic creature. Its camouflage is perfect, because if you don't see it move you can't even tell it's a branch on the ground.

I placed several photos, I even have many more. I don't know how to choose just one; each pose seems better to me...

El concurso

Paseando por el trending #spanish me encontré con el post de @nelyp donde nos invita al concurso. Quedé gratamente interesado en leer más detalles ya que en Steem ha habido muchísimos concursos de fotografía pero este marca una diferencia; que se enfoca más en la historia detrás de esa imagen que la foto como tal.

Me pareció incluso que ella hiciera el concurso para mí, pero lo cierto es que no nos conocemos. Digo esto porque la mayoría de las veces no tengo grandes historias detrás de las fotos. Esto se puede deber a que realizo muchas y el tras cámara es casi el mismo; una modelo para retrato, el mismo parque, etc.

No digo que no tenga historias. Sí las tengo y son muy buenas, pero son sesiones especiales que dedico exclusivamente a que las modelos cuenten su historia. En este post cuento la historia que surgió en ese mismo momento y sin previa planificación.

Gracias @nelyp por este concurso que me da la oportunidad perfecta de contar esta anécdota...

La foto

Estaba con @enmy grabando un video para la última sesión de fotos y donde la entrevisto sobre su experiencia con la fibromialgia (video que les debo, lo se). Terminamos de grabar y guardé el trípode y cuando ya nos íbamos le pregunte que por qué no hacíamos un video para @rutablockchain donde contáramos lo que estaba sucediendo en Steem.

Armé de nuevo el trípode y lo puse en posición. Colocamos el teléfono de @enmy para grabar el video. Comenzamos a contar y expresar lo que pasaba en Steem desde la compra de Justin.

El video con una duración de menos de 10 minutos lo estábamos terminando cuando de repente vemos que una rama seca se mueve en el teléfono. Pensamos que se había caído del árbol y quedó enganchada del celular.

De repente siguió moviéndose y nos dimos cuenta que no era una rama, sino una mantis. Seguimos hablando a la cámara y con ganas de tocarla, tomarle fotos y jugar con ella.

No pudimos resistirnos a la tentación y la incluimos en el video. Tuvimos que decir que teníamos una compañera de visita que vino a observar nuestro video que al finalizarlo, comenzamos a tomarle fotos.

Yo era encantado con cada pose que hacía y no paraba de sacarle fotos. De hecho todas las que les muestro son directas desde mi teléfono y no tienen ningún tipo de edición.

Fue un momento increíble con esta criatura tan exótica. Su camuflaje es perfecto, ya que si no la ves moverse no se distingue incluso podrías pisarla pensando que es una rama en el suelo.

Coloqué varias fotos, incluso tengo muchas más. No se elegir solo una; cada pose me parece mejor...
