As one of the traditional snacks, of course something that reflects its taste must be felt clearly. Well, this is one of my concerns as the owner and founder of this traditional salad shop, Rujak Salak Pliek U khas Bireuen in my city.

In the midst of the widespread invasion of plastic packaging in various culinary outlets, I chose packaging that is more concerned with the natural own rather than being plastic garbage that continues to be grounded everyday and all the time on the earth.

The banana leaf packaging is an alternative for me, the taste enjoyed by the customers is still attached to the traditional side that is carried.

Every Sunday, I order a banana leaf directly from a local farmer. In addition to reducing plastic waste, we also indirectly empowered the economy of the farming community in the village. Every week the supplier of banana leaves for our outlets gets a wage of Rp. 70,000 rupiah. Certainly very helpful, especially since I make reservations regularly every week.

The traditional taste that is felt from traditional culinary is also different from that of outlets that provide plastic packaging. Leaf wrap is more durable, the taste is also not the same, wrapped in a banana leaf is more hygienic than plastic.

Although now more practical era, the environment side should also be our common concern, one of which is by reducing the use of plastic packaging in food. This is the spirit of the Rujak Salak Pliek U khas Bireuen outlet to maintain the used of traditional packaging, banana leaves.
