Buen día preciada audiencia, el día de hoy les quiero compartir la segunda y última parte de la historia de Albi, el primer gato que tuve.

Good day dear audience, today I want to share with you the second and last part of Albi's story, the first cat I had.

El tiempo transcurrió y el pequeño gatito fue creciendo, la caja con juguetes que le había colocado junto con una alfombra, con la intención de que durmiera en ella, dejó de prestarle atención. En lugar de jugar, prefería explorar; no paraba de analizar nuestra casa por todas partes al igual que algunas casas de los vecinos.

Se pasaba largas horas fuera de la casa y a veces yo lograba ver en qué casa entraba. La que más frecuentaba era la casa de unos vecinos que están a dos casas de separación de la nuestra, aunque también veía que le gustaba ir al jardín del vecino de enfrente a descansar. Sin embargo, su lugar favorito para dormir era sobre una pila de cajas que teníamos en la casa junto a su juguete favorito.

The time passed and the little kitten was growing, the box with toys that I had placed along with a carpet, with the intention that he slept in it, the kitten stopped paying attention to it. Instead of playing, he preferred to explore; he kept analyzing our house everywhere as well as some of the neighbors' houses.

He spent long hours outside the house and sometimes I managed to see which house he entered. The one he frequented most was the house of some neighbors who are two houses away from ours, although I also saw that he liked to go to the neighbor's garden across the street to rest. However, his favorite place to sleep was on a pile of boxes that we had in the house next to his favorite toy.

En un abrir y cerrar de ojos llegó nuestro primer diciembre con el gatito y con ello la foto que más me encantó de todas las que tomé de Albi por lo tierno y adorable que se ve en ella.

In the blink of an eye, our first December with the kitten arrived, and with it the picture that I loved most of all those I took of Albi because of how tender and adorable he looks.

También por esas fechas, le colocamos una cesta en la cima de la pila de cajas, a esta cesta le colocamos un trozo de ropa vieja para que estuviese más cómodo al igual que su juguete favorito para que estuviese con él.

Also at that time, we put a basket on top of the pile of boxes, to this basket we put a piece of old clothes so that he was more comfortable as well as his favorite toy to be with him.

El joven gato de un momento a otro perdió el miedo de escalar y se subía a las ramas de nuestro árbol de aguacate y de este se subía al techo de la casa.

The young cat suddenly lost his fear of climbing and climbed up the branches of our avocado tree and from there onto the roof of the house.

Tiempo después, Albi se unió al club de pelea felino sobre los techos de las casas y a quien enfrentaba nuestro gato la gran mayoría de las veces, era nada más y nada menos que el gato más grande y feo de la zona, el cual, tiempo después, se abalanzaba sobre nuestro gato sólo con verlo sin importar la hora ni el lugar.

Siempre nuestro gato salía huyendo tan pronto veía que ganarle a dicho oponente no era una tarea nada fácil, sin embargo, hubo ocasiones en que se ensuciaba bastante al escapar.

Sometime later, Albi joined the cat fight club on the roofs of the houses, and the one who faced our cat most of the time, was nothing more and nothing less than the biggest and ugliest cat of the area, which, sometime later, pounced on our cat just by looking at him no matter the time or the place.

Our cat always ran away as soon as he saw that beating his opponent was not an easy task, however, there were times when he got quite dirty when escaping.

Algo que siempre nos causaba gracia de Albi, era la manera en que dormía algunas veces y que además de su cesta, en ocasiones se dormía en cualquier parte que él consideraba cómoda.

Something that was always funny about Albi was the way he slept sometimes and that besides his basket, sometimes he slept anywhere he considered comfortable.

Luego de más de dos años desde tener su cesta y tanto dormir en ella, terminó hundiendo la caja donde se apoyaba la cesta por su propio peso.

After more than two years since he had his basket and so much sleeping in it, he ended up sinking the box where the basket rested by its own weight.

Hubo varias ocasiones en que Albi salió de nuestra casa a explorar y lo volvíamos a ver un par de días después, nos parecía normal eso en él luego de la primera vez que ocurrió, hasta que en febrero del 2019, tres años y medio de estar con nosotros, volvió a salir; los días pasaron, pero jamás regresó. La siguiente fue la última foto que tomé de él.

There were several occasions when Albi left our house to explore and we would see him again a couple of days later, it seemed normal to us that he would do this after the first time it happened, until in February 2019, three and a half years of being with us, he left again; the days passed, but he never returned. The following was the last picture I took of him.

Luego de dar por hecha la desaparición de Albi, me sentí fatal, no quería tener otra mascota en la casa y así fue por varios meses, hasta que mi primo de pronto se apareció con un gatito en la casa y nuestro mundo volvió a agarrar color. Pero esa historia la dejaré para otro post.

After taking Albi's disappearance for granted, I felt terrible, I didn't want to have another pet in the house and it was like that for several months, until my cousin suddenly showed up with a kitten in the house and our world took on color again. But I'll leave that story for another post.
