Do not Try to Underestimate your own Worth

in hive-148441 •  5 years ago

Hello Friends,

We often try to belittle ourselves, perhaps unwillingly at times. Many times we do this without realizing it. But the way it is done, it is not a good thing for us at all. Because underestimating one's own ability means lowering one's own ability, lowering one's self-confidence. So we should be aware of our own merits and refrain from underestimating them.

Because when you fail to evaluate your own worth, how will others evaluate your worth? It is foolish to expect others to do things that you do not do yourself. So we should try to evaluate our own qualifications properly, so that our self-confidence is right, so that our morale remains intact. If we can't do that, then there will be a time when we realize that our qualifications are not being properly evaluated, but we will be emotionally traumatized and frustrated.

Yes, I am sharing a real incident of my life with you, in this context. Maybe you will get some inspiration from here, I believe. Because there is something instructive about every event, which is very important for our real life.

I had a colleague, he had a lot of knowledge, he had enough experience in various fields, he had the opportunity to work in various multinational companies abroad for several years. But for some reason he had to return to Bangladesh. Then worked with us for about a year. I saw that he controlled complex issues very easily and with a cool head, and shared with us how he solved the issue. That was one of the aspects of his merits.

A year later he had the opportunity to be interviewed for a good post at an American multinational company, and he arrived there on time. He did well enough in the interview. But the point is that he did not get a job in the post for which he applied, but he was appointed in a post much higher than him. Because of his qualifications. He later shared the matter with us. At the end of the interview he was called back, and told that it was important to be aware of his own qualifications. You have tried to downplay your qualifications, but we have evaluated your qualifications and selected you for this post.

He shared the matter with us so that we would be aware of our qualifications and refrain from being underestimated. Honestly, we try to underestimate our potential in many ways, which is not good for us at all.
