Hola a toda la comunidad, hablemos de un tipo de lesión muy frecuente en la cavidad bucal, llamas Aftas o llagas bucales, muy frecuentes en niños, dolorosas y estan ligado a un factor hereditario y son molestas a la hora de comer.

Tomar bebidas calientes o algún jugo cítrico incluso para hablar incomodan, generalmente desaparecen solas y no se consideran una lesión grave, aparecen en la mucosa bucal en la parte interna de las mejillas, en el piso de boca debajo de la lengua, en el paladar blando, en la parte interna de los labios, pueden aparecer en períodos específicos, desde muy temprana edad.

Drinking hot drinks or some citrus juice even for talking is uncomfortable, usually disappears on its own and is not considered a serious injury, appearing on the oral mucosa on the inside of the cheeks, on the floor of the mouth under the tongue, on the soft palate, on the inside of the lips, may appear at specific periods, from a very early age.

Estas Aftas tiene como características, que son circunscritas ovaladas o redondas por un halo enrojecido, son de color blanco o amarillento miden alrededor de 3 a 9 mm y aprecen en solitario o en grupo, cuando son muchas suelen afectar la calidad de vida por ser muy incomodo para comer.

These canker sores have as characteristics, which are circumscribed oval or round by a reddish halo, are white or yellowish measure about 3 to 9 mm and appear alone or in groups, when there are many usually affect the quality of life by being very uncomfortable to eat.

Podemos clasificarlas según su tamaño en tres grupos:
Las aftas menores: miden 1mm, y generalmente aparenen una sola, desaparece sola y mo deja cicatriz, las mayores de más de 1mm a 5mm estas suelen dejar una cicatriz permanente.También puede ser agudas, crónicas o recurrentes.

¿Cuáles son las causas principales de la aparición de las Aftas?

Traumatimo:

Es cuando mos mordemos los carillos o loa labios frecuentemente pude ocasionar la aparición de Aftas, también un golpe en la boca.

Respueta inmunológica:

Es una respuesta ciertas bacterias en la cavidad bucal, desarrolla la aparición de aftas.

Ortodoncia y Prótesis dentales:

Al rozar continuamente la mucosa con éstos dispositivos provoca la aparición de aftas.

Infección por virus:

Se manifiesta en procesos virales, cuando hay fiebre y suelen ser en mucha cantidad.

Cepillado muy fuerte:

Cuando la higiene es inadecuada muy enérgica o con un cepillo muy duro, surge la aparición de aftas.

Estres:

Problemas familiares o trabajos que generen estres estimulas la aparición de aftas.

Cambios Hormonales:

Ésta lesión es más frecuentes en mujeres que en hombres y es por los cambios hormonales incluso alguna pacientes manifiestan su aparición durante la menstruación.

Estomatitis Recurrente:

Se produce desde la niñez, hasta la edad adulta se asocia a una etiología hereditaria, por su aparicion en episodios continuos.

Deficiencias Nutricionales:

Cuando estamos en presencia de una alimentación baja en vitaminas y minerales sobre todo de vitamina B12, ácido fólico e hierro.

Alergias:

Algunos alimentos pueden producir una respuesta alérgica en la mucosa bucal apareciendo las aftas como manifestacion clínica.

Fármacos:

Algunos compoonentes de los enjuagues bucales o cremas dentales que puedan estimular la aparición de aftas.

Genética:

Algunos miembros de una misma familia padecen de la aparición de aftas, la causa es un componente genético.

What are the main causes of the appearance of Canker Sores?

Trauma:

Is when we bite our lips or lipstick, it can often cause the appearance of canker sores, also a blow in the mouth.

Immune Response:

It is a response of certain bacteria in the oral cavity that develops canker sores.

Orthodontics and Dental Prosthesis:

When continuously rubbing the mucosa with these devices causes the appearance of aphthas.

Viral Infection:

Manifests itself in viral processes, when there is fever and usually in large quantities.

Very Strong Brushing:

When hygiene is inadequate, very energetic or with a very hard brush, the appearance of aphthae appears.

Stress:

Family problems or stressful jobs encourage the appearance of canker sores.

Hormonal Changes:

This lesion is more frequent in women than in men and it is due to the hormonal changes that some patients even manifest their appearance during their menstruation.

Recurrent stomatitis:

It occurs from childhood until adulthood and is associated with a hereditary etiology, because of its appearance in continuous episodes.

Nutritional deficiencies:

When we are in the presence of a diet low in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin B12, folic acid and iron.

Allergies:

Some foods can produce an allergic response in the oral mucosa, with canker sores appearing as a clinical manifestation.

Drugs:

Some components of mouthwashes or toothpastes that may stimulate the appearance of canker sores.

Genetics:

Some members of the same family suffer from the appearance of canker sores, the cause being a genetic component.

No son graves pero causan molestias al comer y al hablar, comienzan con una sensacion de ardor y enrojecimiento del área, y aparece una lesión en forma de vesícula y luego de varios días se convierte en una úlcera dolorosa que desaparece a entre 7 o 10 días, sin dejar marca o cicatriz.

They are not serious but they cause discomfort when eating and talking, they start with a burning and reddening sensation of the area, and a blister-like lesion appears and after several days it turns into a painful ulcer that disappears in 7 or 10 days, without leaving any mark or scar.

El tratamiento para esta lesiones, es más para evitar las molestias, por que la lesion desaparecen sola, se recomienda evitar las comidas muy picantes, ácidas o saladas, eso ayuda a disminuir las molestias, se pueden medicar antiflamatorios o analgésicos locales o realizarse enjuages de agua con sal, pueden utilizarse aciclovir, o esteroides para tratarlas.

The treatment for this lesion, is more to avoid the discomfort, because the lesion disappears by itself, it is recommended to avoid very spicy, acid or salty foods, that helps to diminish the discomfort, anti inflammatory or local analgesics can be medicated or to make rinses of water with salt, acyclovir can be used, or steroids to treat them.

Este tipo de lesiones son muy comunes, todos las hemos tenido en boca, son molestosas pero no representan algo grave, así como llegan desaparecen, no es motivo de alarma, sólo se debe seguir las indicaciones y se quitaran solas.

This type of lesions are very common, we have all had them in our mouths, they are annoying but they do not represent something serious, as soon as they arrive they disappear, it is not a reason for alarm, you only have to follow the indications and they will be removed by themselves.
