I think the market is telling us we may have a problem

Everything is up significantly today, yet STEEM is flat yet again

Over the last several weeks we have seen a miniature altseason of sorts.

Many coins in the Top 100 have done very well.

STEEM has not.

This is the picture of today's action:

I am not ready to hit the panic button just yet, but this is the market telling us something.

It's telling us that the market doesn't really value what STEEM has to offer.

My advice is to listen to this advice.

We should be trying to build things that people actually want and are going to use instead of trying to tell them what they want.

Defi seems to be what people want yet we continue to ignore that.

STEEM has all the right ingredients to be an extremely valuable project but we are not realizing that potential and if we get left out of this next bull run it will be that much harder to ever realize that potential.

The time to strike is now.

The KR community has been working on a defi concept with steem power delegation to an account called @upvu. Already amassed 700M sp.

How does it work?

I cant find any posts in English (they are all Korean). I ll try to post something tomorrow.

Ok thank you. Link me when you do. I'm curious how it works and what the returns are like.

Is there a link to learn mor about it?

I haven't found anything yet. A link would be helpful.

I guess you are setting your finger on an important issue here. I do believe Steem has something to offer, but it cannot be compared to awesome projects with fantastic partnerships such as Vechain, Chainlink and so on. However, Steem still has potential, but I don't think we are managing to live up to it in any way currently!

However, if the goal is for content creators to earn money, the platform for sure has use and potential!

Have you see any sort of roadmap going forward? The contests are nice but there is so much more that could be done.

Besides the contests, I don't really see much happening... but they try to delegate funds to some of the groups working on developing apps for the platforming, so that might actually be a useful thing!

Ah yes. Anything as far as a roadmap come out?

There's a lot of medium to small market cap coins that haven't done much. In fact it's only been defi and a few off coins that have performed well. Eveveryones been talking about this altseason, but I'm not seeing it.

Really? I just noticed steem and it's cousin drifting lower and lower down the ranks on CM. To the point that they are both just about out of the Top 100. Which means a bunch of new coins leapfrogged them in the last several weeks.

Upvu could be the alternative of Defi. The APR is more high than other services.

Interesting. What is the APR?

Annual Profit Ratio 🤑

I mean what percentage APR does it return?

When you write a post every single day, the expected APR is around 45%. However, when you don't write a post every single day, it is around around 34%. It depends on how many STEEM POWER is circulated and used. Furthermore, there are many elements related with the APR.

Wow, that is huge. So you get back more than your 10 votes each day? I calculated what you would get if you could self vote 10 times per day and it is right around 40%... so it's more than that?

I absolutely agree, we should try our own defi program on Steem, and also easier on ramps for new users.

How would it work?

If I understand it correctly a "defi" is a token exchange. Don't we already have a similar defi exchange with "Steem Engine" on the Steem blockchain. Maybe we could expand the token exchange to actual cryptocurrency exchanges?
Also with an easier on ramp for new users, I thought if we could print physical Steem cards with maybe $1 worth of Steem on them and place them in supermarkets and stores, make it a lot easier for regular people to join the blogging world. Physical cards, would also be an easy way to charge up the Steem account without having to jump through loops with Bitcoin exchanges.

No, I believe defi stands for decentralized finance, and it's where crypto projects will pay you high interest rates in their native token for investing in their project. It's basically where traditional finance meets crypto.

thanks for new info, I hope it's better than before

What is better than before?

The market was previously priced very high. But very little now. So earlier was better.

Do you mean the price of steem?

Time to hit the panic button now. Justin is cashing out!

Is he though? I'd like to hear a comment on this first. It's possible they are just moving it.

Wouldn't he post a note if he was just moving it?

Why is that?

Why here then?

Token presence ;-) As you can see the account is empty.
