My activity with Hive has significantly increased from what I've been doing with Steem blockchain before. I can't really tell where I will be heading to because it's still a few weeks since Hive launched. I'm one of the few users who still aren't sure with what will be their role in this revitalized platform.
I started creating this account last August in 2019 for the main purpose of engaging Sports content on Steem. That time I found Sports Talk Social, a Steem-Engine tribe that focused on Sports contents posted on Steem blockchain. For others who might have not known, Steem-Engine (Now Hive-Engine on Hive) is a platform that empowers communities, project owners, fundraisers, developers, and businesses to quickly and easily build on the Steem. That time "communities" feature still hasn't realized on Steem. Sportstalk (with token SPORTS) is one of the tribes that existed and it's also among the top tribes in terms of activity, engagement, and market movements.
I've got hyped with this tribe and invested heavily in it. In fact, I've staked 1.7 million Sports Power on it and achieved more than 6,000 SP in Steem holdings. I enjoyed my journey that time even though Sports price was declining. Two main reasons for that was because 1.) Abuses, circle-jerking, low quality content on Trending page, and mild moderation. 2.) Steem's price was declining. I was one of the top investors and even though the price continuously dropped, I have no regrets in investing.
Sportstalk is one of the evidence proofs that human behavior can't be coded. We can't defy what they want to do even it's moderated by many. This is the main reason why I went away and decided to halt my activity in the tribe and in Steem. Well, I've totally lost my faith in Steem long time ago. I started being active on Hive because the top red flags of Steem was removed (/slightly). 1.) Nina-mine stakes, 2.) Centralized entity.
That time, I feel lost. It feels like my faith with Steem has completely lost. Those were also times when manual curation hasn't been done by Steemians. Almost everyone had delegated their stakes on either bidbots or curation accounts. With bidbots, you need to spend money to earn votes on your posts. On curation accounts aiming to incentivize quality content published on Steem. My write-ups aren't good enough to be curated, and I don't want to spend money to get votes. So, I temporarily stopped interacting with Steem, even visiting the site.
