What does decentralization mean to me? Initiative.

Hi everyone.

It is a pleasure for me to attend the initiative created by @theycallmedan, in order to understand the thoughts of the Steem communities about Blockchain and decentralization, all due to the recent events with the #STEEMHostileTakeOver, as well as the importance it represents for me.

Talking about decentralization, is talking about blockchain, first I have to say that it is a very broad term, I learned it with this Steem platform, but in a simple way I have learned little by little about blockchain, first I know that it is decentralized and open, it governs through a blockchain, and thus the creation of a database, and which is not controlled by a central entity. The first known scheme is that of Bitcoin and Ethereum (blockchain), since this technology supports this cryptocurrency.

The building blocks are through equal nodes, which are connected between those that distribute the information, where the same network verifies the transactions that are carried out. Decentralization for me means: privacy, autonomy, scalability, transparency, security, and consensus.

Decentralization is important because it is not controlled by any third party intermediary. It gives us more independence, empowerment, autonomy and freedom for its users. Thanks to blockchain and Bitcoin, today it is possible to achieve the scaling of these systems and make decision-making efficient, decentralization allows us to replace authority with autonomy.
