Football has had to face a first world problem from which it will not be able to escape, the COVID-19... That is why we ask if it is time to stop World Football?

Hi Steemians, in the last month the world has seen how the virus that threatens the life of many people is spreading, CODVID-19, Coronavirus, this has already raised the alarm in all countries of the world to try to stop the spread of the disease which at the moment seems an impossible task to achieve, this because since its inception in China, specifically in the city of Wuhan, it was thought to be something preferable for that area and that country, but we have seen by the little information about how it is spread, symptoms, Incubation time and the slowness of the Chinese government to stop the spread, we have seen how the number of infected and even dead people is increasing, although the percentage is very low with respect to people infected and dead, it is clear that we do not yet know the extent of infection and how far this ratio of sick to dead can rise, which is why many governments in different countries must take measures to protect the lives of people and more when there is still no cure for this disease, which is why these measures to prevent infection, Trying to stop the spread is the main thing at this time, these measures more than anything are to suspend acts that could bring together hundreds to thousands of people in a single enclosure and as I said earlier, the spread of this disease is by contact between people and can be transmitted through the air, so a single person who is in the incubation period of this disease or presenting the symptoms of cough and fever, can infect a group of people who remain united with them in less than a meter away, that is why the suspension of events of different companies, concerts have decided to postpone their dates until there is a solution to this problem, but there is a show that seems not to be willing to stop and that is the Football, still fighting for whether the meetings should be "behind closed doors" (no audience) or whether to suspend the days until there is a solution to the problem, something that players, employers (some) and even spectators seem not to want to accept, but surely in the end should think better and see what is best for all of us who love this sport.

"First Serie A, then all European Leagues..."

Italy after China, has been the country that the COVID-19 has hit hard, currently presents the amount of 10,000 infected and 631 deaths, the government of that country has taken drastic decisions but for them they hope that they are effective and thus avoid the spread of the disease, one of these measures is to avoid that they leave and enter flights to that country, another one is the suspension of classes in schools and universities, but what happens with one of the most important sports for that country? What will happen with Football? At the beginning of the spread of this disease, the A Series decided to suspend a number of games where they were in the north of the country, these belonged to the 26th day of the 2019-2020 tournament, only four games were played that weekend, the rest were played a week later behind closed doors, but with the threat that perhaps this would be the last day of this tournament because the government saw very difficult to stop the spread of the disease and did not want even fans, players, other employees and managers were exposed to illness, on Monday March 9, the Prime Minister of Italy decided to suspend all sporting activities in the country, this would make the following days for the whole month would not be played and would be on April 3, the date chosen to assess whether or not it is possible to continue with the tournament or suspend it permanently, To this we would add that the international games could take place because this is something that the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) cannot stop, but just one day later the government bans departures and arrivals and many airlines have banned flights to that country because of this disease, because of fear games like Rome vs Sevilla and Inter vs Getafe games by the UEFA Europa League were postponed, but that's not all about this country, football and this disease, because it has been reported that the defender of Juventus FC, Daniele Rugani, tested positive for COVID-19, this news came after the game between Juventus vs Inter and has made both the technical staff and players of these teams are in quarantine waiting for other players to be infected.

Other countries in Europe where this disease has appeared in spite of not having the amount of infected people as Italy has, have looked for the way to learn and to apply measures so that it does not expand in all its territory, now with respect to the sport more than anything to the football, each one of these countries has taken different measures, For example, in England, where the Premier League was played last week with full stadiums, the precaution had been taken not to let the elderly enter the stadiums because they are prone to suffer seriously from COVID-19, although it all seems a rumor that measure because it is as illogical as possible, whether in a stadium or in a street, any of these people could contract the disease, but it is yesterday that this football league took the measure to ban the game between Manchester City and Arsenal, the team from London, days ago faced for the UEFA Europa League against Olympiacos from Greece, several of the players of the English team would have a meeting with the owner of the Greek club Evangelos Marinakis, who tested positive for Coronavirus, this made the Arsenal players be in quarantine and despite what happened the Premier League, has decided not to suspend more games although it is expected that next Saturday they will not face Arsenal vs Brighton & Hove Albion.

In Spain, Germany and France, there are no indications of suspending their soccer leagues, these three countries each have more than a thousand confirmed cases and Spain and France each have up to 30 deaths, Germany has only two deaths, That is why these countries together with their governments and people in charge of sport have taken measures to play matches behind closed doors for the time of two weeks or more or in Germany it has been maintained that the stadiums have a certain amount of spectators that do not reach a large number, but this seems to have come to an end because of the knowledge of a footballer who has tested positive for the disease, this has led to the game being played between Mochengladbach vs 1.FC Koln is played behind closed doors and it seems that these measures will be implemented so that these teams can at least keep the profits in television transmission because as the president of FC Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu said, even if the game is played without an audience and is seen on TV, there is a possibility that there will be a large monetary loss by the clubs, But even if this is a solution, then it will be accepted without any problem, but in Spain, despite the fact that at the beginning it was thought to protect the public and keep the matches without fans, it will not be the solution either and that is why La Liga has just suspended the matches for the next two weeks, hoping to study the situation after that time and take other decisions such as suspending the tournament definitively.

It's not enough.

Football is big business, football moves masses and is international, this is the maximum problem at the moment because club fans can and do the impossible to follow their team in any stadium, anywhere no matter what is happening, but the managers are sometimes worse than the fans of these teams, because while one is moved by passion for sport, there are others who are moved by greed for money, exposing fans and players only to obtain a significant monetary burden, to this can also be added the sponsors who exploit the image of clubs and players for the public to consume their product. I am a passionate fan of this great sport, "the most beautiful in the world", and although I am saddened or annoyed by not being able to see the many games in the different leagues or international tournaments, I believe that health is the first thing, to be able to make ourselves strong against this pandemic this year and that we can survive it, I do not want to be alarmist or anything like that, but I think about my parents since I have seen that the older people are more susceptible to suffer this disease seriously and although in Latin America there is not a quantity of infected people like in Europe and Asia, I believe that many people can think like I do, that's why it's not bad to follow the indications that our governments give in this health problem, at least this time, to follow the requirements or the indications to prevent the contagion and to maintain the clamor until this whole storm passes and we can enjoy everything that we like to do.
