On Friday, they announced that all restaurants would be closing down starting at midnight on Saturday except for take-away service. All malls too and supermarkets were only allowed to sell food items. There was a second mass exodus of people from Bangkok, mostly by bus, back to their provinces and they took their Covid 19 and spread the love around the rest of Thailand!!

Cinemas and all leisure facilities had already been closed the previous week. We had a discount voucher for a particular chain called Sizzlers and there was no way the wife was going to let a freebie go to waste so on Saturday, the last night of opening, we donned masks and stashed Gel in our pockets and went for it.

Normally on a Saturday evening, you'd have to queue for a table but last Saturday night........

To be honest, they are taking things seriously here. Many places refuse entry if you're not wearing a mask and to get into the supermarket you need to queue for your temperature-taking before another person squirts gel into your hands.

The lady is using an electronic thermometer to everyone's temperature before allowing them in!

ALL non-food items were taken off sale. Not just underwear! Need new knickers? Not on my watch says the General!!

And finally. I know in the west they are stripping the shelves of toilet roll but here, they have cleared the entire noodle aisle!!

But I mean why? It's not like noodles are any good for wiping your arse or blowing your nose on? Strange folks are the Thais ;-)

LAtest News: Curfews have been announced from the 26th, but they didn't bother to give us any further details such as times etc yet lol....quality!

it will be interesting to see if the population actually abides by this. For one thing I will be happy if it means less motorbike punks on the streets at night :)
