Check this spider out!
Sometimes the black widows we encounter have these little white stripes on the side. Perhaps they are juveniles, but the size is still impressive. I haven't researched it yet, but they are black widows... so why do some have these white stripes? Does anyone know?

This seems to be a juvenile Southern Black Widow (Latrodectus mactans), they have such white stripes. But patterns can vary quiet a bit among the different sub-species.
