“Jasmine stormed out of her bedroom “ she was obviously angry at what her elder had just said. They were in the middle of getting dressed for that year’s Christmas party in church.
Jasmine is dark skinned , tall with about 5 ft4 inches. Jasmine would stare herself in the mirror and say words like “ I am a walking skeleton jare with very little meat”. Jasmine had already memorized her stature in her head, that she didn’t need to look at herself all over again whenever she felt intimidated by her elder sister Kora .
Kora is a light skinned , a little taller than jasmine. Kora was a very curvy lady( the kind of lady we call figure 8). Her bosom in front complemented with her hips swayed in circular motion. She had the perfect features that will keep a man looking back numerous times.
The sun was shining in the early hours of Sunday morning, the house is joyous and filled with laughter. As they all loved the feeling of Christmas. Jasmine and Kora had gotten their dresses in preparation for the Christmas party in church.
Jasmine and kora shared a portable masters bedroom in their father’s house, they both had their corners in the room with all their properties neatly arranged in their corner.
They were both preparing for the Chris party happily. Jasmine had put on her Christmas dress, and dashed to the mirror to admire herself. The gown was neatly fitted on her body , but she wasn’t as curvy as Kora.
Kora watched her sister stare at herself in the mirror with her dress and let out a loud laugh. Jasmine was startled, she turned around to ask why kora laughed like that; “ why are you laughing like someone who just inhaled a laughing gas?” Jasmine asked. Kora paused for a while and said, “ you look so skinny in that outfit; it doesn’t suits you at all, and I’ll feel so ashamed going to church with you looking like an iroko tree wearing a gown”. Jasmine felt dejected, she felt very ugly and sad. She decided not to even go for the Christmas party again. She angrily left the room to sit outside.
“ Jasmine! Someone whispered from behind, she was startled when she turned to see her mom. “What are you doing seated here?” She narrated all that happened between herself and Kora.
Her mom sat by her side and said “ calm down sweetheart, Jasmine forced a smile.” Her mom began “ I want you to know that you are beautiful, and be comfortable with your body. People only know you are beautiful when you realized so yourself . There is nothing more appealing than a woman who is comfortable in her skin. Complement it with a good character , then you have rubies . “ I want you to go out there and enjoy your party “ she said pointing her finger to Kora who was standing staring at her sister apologetically for making her feel sad”. They rush off to the party..... THE END .
Beautiful is a woman who has a distinctive personality; one who can laugh at anything, including themselves, and one who is especially kind and caring to others. ... She is a woman who can inexplicably make you feel really good just by being around her, and yet brings such great sadness when she is gone.
Dear ladies , you do not need anyone’s approval or permission to make you feel good. That someone somewhere says you are ugly doesn’t validate the fact that you are ugly. Don’t let anyone make you feel inferior without your consent. Don’t allow
It’s ok to tell yourself you are beautiful, irrespective of whatever people say ,words can’t bring me down , I am the best version of me . Just say beautiful things to yourself every-time. Don’t ever think that you all ugly ,be confident in your skin .
I want you to know that you are carefully and wonderfully made. Whether tall or short , black or white, fat or slim, you are uniquely beautiful.
