As most of you know I love my silver and I'm growing my stack pretty heavely and love EVERY moment about it 😜 and I'm totally addicted to..lol
One of my favorite collections are the Hobo nickels, and I have 2 of them in Antique 5oz but yesterday I got my first 1oz and this one is BADASS... Check it out!
1 oz Proof Silver Skulls and Scrolls Hobo Nickel Round!
- Total mintage of just 10,000 rounds in this design!
- Third release from Mr. The in the Hobo Nickel Round series!
- Each round comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
- Consists of one troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
- Includes the image of an eerie skeletal figure on the obverse.
- Mr. The’s walking hobo is on the reverse, with only his skeletal figure visible.
- Edge lettering.
On the obverse face of the 1 oz Silver Proof Skulls and Scrolls Hobo Nickel Round you’ll find an image similar to Fraser’s Native American Chieftain, instead finished in a skeletal design.
The reverse side of the round has the walking hobo image introduced as a common design element on this side in the previous release in the series.
Unlike the second round in the series, the reverse walking hobo on these 1 oz Silver Proof Skulls and Scrolls Hobo Nickel Rounds have a skeletal figure instead.
As with other proof releases in the series, you’ll receive your Skull and Scrolls Hobo Nickel Round from Silver.com in a protective plastic capsule with a Certificate of Authenticity.
ON the edge of the coin you’ll find the weight, purity, and metal content engraved along with a unique serial number.
Through a combination of Skulls and Scrolls, Mr. The creates an eerie version of the famous Buffalo Nickel design from James Earle Fraser. These rounds are highlighted by the unique rim of te coin, which includes a tattered scroll look, while both the primary obverse and reverse designs are featured in skeletal form.
And ofcourse I have to show you the difference between this new baby Hobo and my bad boy 5 oz Jefferson Skull Scroll silver Proof... Drool WARNING!
I love this new silver but the 5oz just is out of this world and I love the Antique look on it.
And the details are my favorite in those rounds, like art and the signings on the edge is a beautiful touch.

The Skulls and Scrolls Hobo Nickel Round is so very pretty, sis @saffisara, it is a wonderful addition to your collection of silver. The art round is definitely nice and shiny!!!
Once again, the proof version pulls it away from the original intent of and concept of the hobo nickel. It was ... the Buffalo Nickle, then some artisan engravers ("hobos") work on the surface of the coin to come up with designs around the original engravings of the Buffalo nickel, and the creativeness and skill of the engraver artisan working on a very small surface was the special art of the Hobo Nickel. Since it is a nickel, it was naturally worn, so when some peeps starting making pretend hobo nickels "from scratch" they would sort of antique it. Then they started making it not on nickels or nickle size but 1 oz and 5 oz, and now that one is a si;ver proof, round depicting a hobo person and it is called Silver Hobo Nickel.
