Travelgirl's Day 1 of Semi Lockdown in Sydney

Hi Everyone,

Today is the first day of the semi lockdown in Sydney due to COVID19. Why I called it 'semi lockdown' is because schools are not closed. Shopping centers are still opened, and people can still technically go out and about. I am actually pretty annoyed at the situation now as we have over 1600+ cases and schools are still opened advised by the Federal Government and shopping centers as well. How is that social distancing, beats me. This morning, our Premier has announced that kids should stay at home while schools open and recommend it is opened for those whose parents are health care works, in emergency services and those needed to be at work.

I have heard many kids at our primary school are kept at home including mine. The school has already sent emails about home school activities and work to ensure everyone has the same fair chance as those at school. The main work covered will be internet-based so nobody will be at a disadvantage. It has been challenging at home today with two young kids full of energy at home & trying to perform my full-time work at home. It's tough but it may have to be the norm. We started off the day with a movie and gaming as well as some online course work.

Then after lunch, they started to get bored. I found a bag of beads and told Baby M to separate them all for me so I can start a new project with him. That got me another 30 minutes of quiet time. Remember today is only day 1, potentially another 4 weeks or more of this ahead .... if you have any great ideas on how to occupy kids, please give me some ideas!
