Thugs using the frustration of this lockdown to terrorize communities in the outskirt.

One of the major consequence of this lockdown effect in my region is the rate of robbery ongoing in different communities scattered in the outskirts of the metropolitan city.

These communities in the suburb area are the most vulnerable because the security parameters are so low that the people residing there barely have faith in those commissioned by the government to discharge the duty of protection. My area is not exempted from this robbery attacks as neighboring streets in the distance are falling victims and I fear they may attack my street soon but I hope it doesn't come to that.

I was in my favorite online community on discord; the city of neoxian. When a good friend of mine, my fellow compatriot who resides in a suburban region far from mine was sharing the recent trend of robbery happening within his vicinity. He disclosed how the bad boys in his area were using the frustration of the lockdown and the negative effects of Indian hemp to terrorize their community.

He shared incidents of theft, rape, and killing of two landlord who didn't comply with their demands. Now the people of that community after series of complain to the police and incompetent response to curb the situation. The youths have decided to take the law into their hands and use the ruthlessness of jungle justice to respond to the matter until the police can take the upper hand.

In the place where I live, I fear for what may happen in the coming days if this lockdown persists. After all, the federal government issued another announcement that the lockdown is now indefinite until the center for disease control curbs the number of confirmed cases to dwindle drastically but until it does we are to confine ourselves in our home.

I just wonder how the poor masses will endure the hard times.Sighs.

Partially, this lockdown has only been beneficial to communities that are close to the local government offices saddled with the responsibility of disbursing palliative and relief materials to the masses. But for those in the suburban region who are far off, some corrupt local government offices are exploiting the palliative meant for the public in their district and barely distributing it rather they hoard it to themselves. Well, corruption runs in the system. This is politics after all.

In the coming days, I hope to awake to the breaking news about the vaccine that will eradicate the nuisance of this pandemic. Until such news knocks on the door of mankind, we just have to keep doing what we do best and hope for better days.
