Introduction

I am not the type to visit supermarkets often to buy major things. I always patronise the local market cause it's cheaper and easier to access than supermarkets.

Most supermarkets, especially this part of the country I stay in are not friendly with photography made in their store.

The reason isn't clear to me. I know how many times I've been politely cautioned to stop taking photos in the big stores.

The little I was able to capture is what I will share. I took pictures outside the supermarket which is absolutely allowed.

My Favorite Supermarket is Market Square

Market Square is a well known supermarket in the country, Nigeria. It has it major branches in Rivers state and other branches that spans across the 36 states.

One thing I've noticed is that Market Square and Kilimanjaro goes together. Wherever you see market Square, you'd see Kilimanjaro but the reverse isn't the same.

Unlike Cold Stone and Dominos Pizza. These two literally work hand in glove with each other. They build branches along side each other in Nigeria. I don't know about their branches outside the country.

Market Square is a once in a while visit. I come there sparingly to shop for mostly chocolates or branded products that you can only see in stores. Example: Ritz Crackers.

I have always had this mindset that I will never see the Crackers here in Nigeria until I visited Market Square. It was a huge surprise and happiness for me seeing my favourite biscuits the whole world.

The last time I visited, I got chocolates, crackers and a can of malt. No toiletries of such cause I didn't need them at the moment.

My photography was kindly cut short by the attendants in the mall. I wasn't offended at all when they told me not to take pictures because they were being polite.

I visit market square at least once a month or twice in 3 months. In other not to get too fat, I have to cut down on my sugar level by my intake in chocolates.

Of course, COVID 19 protocols are still observed though not strictly for customers. The cashiers were theirs while attending to customers.

The supermarket is located at Jikwoyii, FCT, Abuja. It was recently built and has been my go to supermarket for chocolates and ice cream.

The prices of their products are usually fair on edibles. Where there's extravagancy in fixing of prices is in their wine collection or children toys adult accessories.

To me it's quite expensive when compared to the local market price but then there are people that go there and pick these items as it is.

In the supermarket, you don't have option to price any product. The prices are already logged into their systems and scanned during checkout.

Below is the receipt of my shopped items. The steem equivalent is tabulated below too.

As at the time of visitation, I bought only four items most of where chocolates and biscuits. I couldn't necessarily finish all the chocolates I bought. I shared them with my siblings on getting home and settling down.

Conclusion

I don't always visit the supermarket but the few times I do, I make the best of it. Usually, I come out with friends to buy a few of these items and go back home together.

This is my own promotion of my favourite supermarket. I hope you enjoyed reading it. Thank you and God bless.

Thank you got visiting my blog. I am commenting on other people's post too.

Nice work dear but it is one the best market system but the problem hear is people who are already use to local market system will find it very difficult to adapt

Yes it's true. Local markets only offers cheaper products but the comfort isn't there. The areas are crowded and unorganized.

I have also come across such caution if not taking pictures at the supermarket, one of the reasons my entry in this contest is not certain, you've tried your best as possible you can and I wish you could share. more pictures at the supermarket, but it is understandable as you stated earlier.
You have been doing well mate
I hope you won't relent
Steem on sis
And I like your swag, it's called face off..😀

Thank you so much for the nice compliment and for noticing my swag too. It's rare to see a supermarket that allows such but it's fine. I'll find a store that allows free taking of photos within my environment.

Thank you so much. I tried to take the little I could and fast too cause they were everywhere.

Greetings @beckie96830!

This is the first time I am hearing of Market Square supermarket store. It is not common in the west here. Shoprite and other smaller supermarket like Peace reign, Feco, and Ino are the ones in Ondo state that I know. They are also good supermarkets to buy groceries.

I don't think market square is that common in every Nigerian state. Where I know it's everywhere is in Port Harcourt, Rivers state Nigeria.

Woow the products at the market square are looking good and attractive and I also see the prices of the various items are very moderate and considerable. I will love to shop in this Supermarket if I'm chance to visit your country

This is a great and wonderful job don by you hope you will continue to come out with this wonderful contest and wish you the best in your Contest

I agree with you that people shop where close to them and it might not always be at a Supermarket.
Thank you for sharing your review!
