I am really excited to be a partaker in this week's contest and really want to appreciate the organizers of this contest @alikoc07 for the opportunity to appreciate mother's all over the world. Thanks so much for this contest gave me the privileged to celebrate my special mother and guess what! she was surprised and very happy when she saw the special cake I made for her.
Mothers deserve to be celebrated, as such I want to use this platform to make a special cake for my lovely mom with her favorite flavors (strawberry and vanilla flavor). My best friend, special adviser, role model and my world, I want u to know that I really love and respect you for your love and support towards me and my siblings, thank you for being the best wife and mother. Mrs Esseme Ebenezer, happy mother's day.
Recipe for strawberry and vanilla cake .
Sugar(500g)
Floor(500g)
Egg (15pcs)
- Butter(500g )
- Baking powder (7teaspoon)
Foster Clark strawberry Flavor (30ml)
Milk flavor(400g)
Dry mixed fruit( 30g)
Vanilla flavor(10g)
Icing sugar( 3pac)
(CMC) Carbon menthyl cellulose(1tablespoon)
- Liquid glucose(3tablespoon)
- Gelatin(10teaspoon)
Procedures for baking Cake
Step1 In a clean bowl, I put butter and added sugar then stirred till it was pasty or creamy
Step2 Then break and beat eggs till it's creamy.
Step3 I poured the eggs into the batter containing the butter and sugar, then stirred properly. Then I added the strawberry flavour and stir.
- Step4 I added flour into the batter and stir till it's properly mixed.
Step5 I added baking powder and stirred till the whole ingredients were evenly mixed.
Step6 After that, I added vanilla and stirred properly. I added mixed fruit I also stirred properly
- Step7 To make the cake look special, I made it to have two different colour by pouring half of it into the greased pan and the remaining half I added browning and stirred until the color changed to brown, then now poured it into the greased pan.
- Step8 After I poured the cake mixture into the well greased pan, I then placed in an oven and allowed it to heat for 2hrs.
Procedure for Preparing my fondant
I sieved the icing sugar then added CMC into a bowl and stirred.
In a separate cup, I added about 4cl of hot water, and gelatin and stirred properly before adding liquid glucose.
I poured all into the bowl containing the icing sugar and massaged properly.
After thoroughly massaging, I spread it out using a rolling pin.
Then I cut off the top to level it before covering it with the icing sugar I spread out with a rolling pin.
I then added my designs to the cake.
N/B: Before covering the cake and adding design, you must apply butter icing ( that's mixture of icing sugar and butter) before covering it with the fordant icing.
