Everyone likes to eat meat. To some, it's an important item in food. Some even consider eating food without to be a sign of poverty or a curse. Some people are even addicted to it that they just eat it alone without food, every now and again. Maybe it's because of it's texture or it's taste or something else but it is hardly to see who doesn't like meat of some sort.

When it comes to buying raw meat to cook, I'm very careful in selecting where and who I buy from. In this post, I'll tell you about my favorite meat vendor.

My favorite meat shop

I like to go to the market in my area to buy meat. I prefer this to the road side vendors around. This is because at the market, the meat is always fresh. And because of the number of people coming to buy, you can be sure that each day, the meat available is sold out, meaning a fresh selection for the next day.

Even in this market, I have a favorite vendor. I chose him because he's calm, easygoing, honest and considerate. In my area, these are qualities to look for in a meat vendor. This is especially because the prices of meat are not fixed at the local market, you have to haggle. Here is a picture of myself buying from my favorite vendor.

Why I like my favorite vendor

My favorite vendor gives me large pieces of meat for a small fee and he's open to bargaining unlike other vendors who get offended when your try to beat down their prices. A closer look at my selfie and you ould see him smiling. He's very jovial and honest.

Another reason why I like him is proximity. The market where his shop is within walking distance from where I reside. This makes it very economical compared to any other place I know of.

Thirdly, he offers me the kind of meat I like. He has different kinds of meat though he majorly deals on cow meat. The cow parts are where he provides variety.

The most expensive meat in the market

In our local market, the most expensive meat is goat meat. The prices are very high no matter how good you are at bargaining and the pieces are small. It's the sweetest for me but it's the most expensive.

My favorite meat

My favorite meat is goat meat because it's the sweetest. The taste it adds to the food alone is exactly delicious. The aroma also can make one salivate. A friend of mine once told me that the more stubborn and stinky the goat is, the sweeter the meat will be. Also, male goats are more sweeter than female goats. I haven't verified these but I guess it might be true.

How often I visit my favorite vendor

I visit my favorite vendor as often as I need to buy meat. Whenever food is to be cooked and I'm to buy the meat, I prefer to go to my vendor. We don't cook every day though and though we cook at least once every week, I'm not always the one to buy the meat.

The meat I bought

Today, I bought cow meat from my favorite vendor. It was worth NGN500 and it was sizeable. This vendor is a local one and doesn't issue a receipt so there's none to show. However, here is the meat I bought.
