It's my DAY 14 n the Third Season of the Food Diary Game. It's Sunday, and we are totally out of schedule.

My sister came for breakfast, and that is how my food-day started. She brought hallacas she had made the day before. She added cane honey to the dough, so the tatse was semi sweet. I loved them like that; I also use cane honey in the dough of my hallacas but just a little.
We had a nice and long chat and drank tons of coffee.
It was really late for me to start cooking lunch when she left, already 3 p.m. I had made some cauliflower cream for my father, who is recovering from a minor surgery of the gums. My husband took her to her house and on their way, they dropped the cream at my Father's. I saved some of the cream to go with the pasta salad I had planned to make for lunch, which now was going to be dinner. You can see the cream inside the blender; it is pale orange because I added a piece of pumpkin (along with the cauliflower, sweet peppers, onion and garlic).
I used the steam cooker to cook the broccoli and the carrots. I boiled the pasta and let it cool down. I saute stripes of chicken breast.
I made some mayonnaise with fresh garlic but no mustard. Besides, I used vinegar instead of lemon. This is how we like our mayonnaise for pasta salad.
The ingredients I used for the mayyonaise:
- 50 ml olive oil
- 75 ml corn oil
- 1 egg (L)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of garlic cloves
To prepare this homemade mayonnaise, put everything in the glass of the immersion blender and blend for 1 or 2 minutes, until it thickens, without removing the blender from the bottom of the glass. Pause to add 1 tablespoon of freshly peeled garlic cloves. Blend for 20 to 30 seconds. Refrigerate to thicken.
This mayonnaise is bright white, and creamy:
I also used some cheese and black olives (which we liked so much, my husband and I; Serpis is the brand)
And here is how I put all the ingredients together:
You have to try this out. I think this is a great example of a pasta salad: not too much pasta, variety of flavors, creamy dressing. Really nice.
A couple of hours after that, we had our afternoon coffee, which was an evening coffee.
Then we got ice cream and wafers, like an hour later.

Usualmente le pongo mostaza, pero no para la ensalada de pasta. Queda muy buena, @rosinat; no se ahorra mucho respecto de la comercial, pero al menos uno puede controlar qué tipo de aceite le pone y hacerla de mejor calidad que la de la tienda; y queda mucho más gustosa.
