Hi Steemians,

I am so delighted to participate in this contest organized by @ngoenyi, my special thanks goes to @alikoc07 and @steemfoods for this great opportunity to showcase our traditional desserts. I also want to thank @focusnow for introducing to this great platform.

My favorite desert for this contest #2 is Plantain Chips.

Plantain Chips are crispy, crunchy desert made from thinly sliced green (unripe) or slightly riped plantain. It's a popular desert in Nigeria, infact each household in Nigeria eats plantain chips either as a side, main meal or appetizer.

     WHY IS IT MY FAVOURITE?

I chose plantain chips because it's yummy, irresistible and loaded with nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamins A,B, minerals such as magnesium, potassium and rich sources of complex carbohydrates. It is also simple to make and can be bought as low as #100 from local vendors.

      INGREDIENTS

Slightly riped Plantain - 4 fingers
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

      METHOD OF PREPARATION

First, I washed and peeled the plantains

I sliced the plantains into chips using a knife.

I added salt to taste and mixed properly.

I placed the oil in a pan, heat oil for 10 mins and added the plantains one after the other so that it doesn't stick to each other because if it sticks to each other it won't be crunchy.

I gently stirred from time to time for like 5 mins after which I removed from the oil.
Serve chips when cold.
