VENISON FLAUTAS

It's about time we did this!

I've been hunting deer for years now, and we've been eating flautas for years now. Somehow, we always made them with beef or chicken. Now, we've tried venison, and we loved it!

After successfully harvesting a couple of deer this season, we tried to use everything on them that we could. I even smoked the carcasses and removed all the meat we could from off the bones. The meat for these flautas came from there, and I sure am glad that we did it.

We like rolling up some corn tortillas with meat on the inside and then frying them in oil to make our flautas. We then make an avocado sauce to top them with, and usually add lettuce. This time we also added cilantro and onion. Last night was our first time trying these, but I bet it won't be our last. Enjoy the photos!

Those look yummy, what is the sauce over the top, under the lettuce? They look like skinny fajitas without the peppers and onions, to me. I'm sure you had peppers in them, just can't see them in the pictures with my eyes. 😊

The sauce is Avocado, Milk and Salt. Very tasty!!!

I've never had avocado, but it does look quite tasty indeed. I might have to buy one and give it a try to see if we like it and if we do we could have something new to add to our dinner rotation. 😊
