Hi my friends, photography lovers. Today it's back again with @walictd who will share some macro images, still with insect macro images. The insect I shared this time is a little more unique and rare, he is a type of spider. I was surprised when I first saw it, I thought it was not a spider, but when I looked closely it turned out to be true that this was a spider. My assumption before looking closely was that this was a pest type insect. Its shape is very unique, it has spines on its body even like a robot.
My assumption turned out to be wrong when I looked closely, that he was making a web-shaped nest. Oooh it turns out that this is a spider, but he is really unique. Spiders are like a type of robot. I was even more curious to take a lot of photos, even though it was drizzling, but I still hung in there to get photos of this type of insect.
After selecting the photos of this insect, then I found out its name through the google lens that I scanned on the photo. I finally found the real name of this spider as Gasteracantha hasselti.
Gasteracantha hasselti is a type of insect that is a spider species grouped into the Araneidae family. This insect is also part of the Araneae order. The scientific name of this species was first published in 1837 by C L Koch. Source
Maybe this time I don't discuss at length with this strange type of insect, but I will show some photos that I took myself using a Redmi Note 9 Pro + Apexel lens camera. Here are some pictures and one video:
How friends, are you familiar with this type of spider?, does this insect exist in your country or area or even you often find it?, if there is what is the name in your place?.
Best Regard
