The title of this post is no new thing to us. It's actually one major skill that controls the net. Steemit has a website which didn't evolve on it own, but took large hands to design and give it a good layout and structure so that anyone visiting the site won't be puzzled but intrigued to know more. How is this website built? This tutorial will give you basic knowledge on how you can build a website professionally. The internet space is embedded with websites used for different purposes, including advertisement, business oriented programs and the likes. You can actually advertise your goods and services if you want to reach a large audience

The word Web in Web Design means Website. Web design refers to the process of creating and designing websites which is a collection of web pages that are appealing visually and easy to navigate. In designing a website, the structure, layout and appearance of the website is given special consideration as this would be made public. This is very much similar to the way we give special consideration to posts we make on the platform because it would appear on steemit website as a web page.The process of creating a website includes;

• planning
• wireframing
• designing
• Development which we'll dwell on in the course of this tutorial
• creating contents and
• maintaining the website after launch.
  How important is web design?

Web design is way too important as it is a determining factor for the evolvement of any website. You can't just create a website without developing and designing it. Imagine creating a website and the website appears unprofessional or suspicious, what would your audience think about it. They'll give little or no consideration visiting the site. Web design is important because it;

• creates the first impression of a business, organisation or firm. The way a website is created or design would actually allow visitors make their judgement on the website. If the website is poorly designed, it can turn them away from the website. So it's very important to professionally design your website before launching it. If you're actually creating a website for advertising your products, it must be catchy and must appear professional visually.

• makes user have a good experience visiting the site. A good web design makes it easy to navigate the site, find important information and carry out certain tasks by visitors.

• is an opportunity to establish a brand's identity including its logo, typography and color scheme.

• endures credibility instead of making visitors question the legitimacy of the business or firm because of poor design.

Web design has various elements which contributes appearance and overall performance. Understanding this elements would help designers create effective websites that meet the needs of their audience. Below are various elements of web design which a designer must give special consideration.

• Layout: The layout of a website is the way contents are arranged on the page. It must be structured in an appealing way and information should be be clear, serving as a guide to visitors on the page.

• Color should also be given special consideration as it helps establish brand identity. It should also be carefully used.

• Typography includes the fonts which is an essential ingredient to designing a website.

• Images and navigation are also major elements to designing a website. Without inserting pictures on your steemit post, it would look unattractive and less visible.

There are various tools used for designing a web and this includes

• Html and CSS
• JavaScript
• Graphic Design software
• Content Management System
• prototyping tools, etc.

Our main focus in this tutorial would be on using these tools to create and design websites. My next post will feature HTML which is the first tool. We'll discuss extensively on these and practical classes would be held each week.

In conclusion, web design is a determining factor for the appearance of a website in the internet space.
