Hello friends Steemians!

If you got here it's because you're new and you definitely have some questions, and yes, it's normal to get lost the first time you log into Steemit. Mainly because it is a rather complex world and sometimes strong repercussions. But today I want to share with you my little knowledge about the platform and why I am persistent here.

I want to make it clear that many of the concepts and strategies described here are from my perspective and may not be entirely accurate.

In the same way, what I am looking for is to help people who have doubts and start in Steemit.

Here are some basic concepts that will be very useful to you during your stay in Steemit, I hope it helps you.

What is Steemit?

It is a social network that includes content creation (posts and comments), and rewards with the use of a cryptocurrency called Steem Dollars (SBD). This platform was founded by Ned Scott and Dan Larimer, in March 2016.

Steemit is based on three basic principles:

Everyone who contributes in one way or another to society should be rewarded with a share of the company's stock.

All capital is equally valuable. That means whether you spend money to buy SBD or spend time posting content or voting, you should earn the same reward.

Steemit is a closed community and all content generated is for the use of members.

What is SBD, SP and STEEM?

STEEM and Steem Dollar (SBD) are cryptocurrencies that are mined and can be exchanged on a stock exchange (exchange house) for other cryptocurrencies or dollars.

In my case I have converted SBD to Bolívar through the Steemit user created for it.

The way to get them is what differentiates them. SBD is earned by issuing.

Steem Power or SP is the total number of shares you have on Steemit. That is, the more you have, the higher your income will be according to the profit. The power of Steem will also affect how much profit you will give to a post or post, meaning the higher the value, the more profit you can give to the post. How to get SP is by posting or healing.

What is "curation"?

This is the mechanism established by Steemit, where we vote for publication, and from which we receive rewards within the power of Steem. These rewards will depend on various factors which will be explained later.

profits distributed

75% of the total earned in publications goes to the author and the remaining 25% is distributed among the curators and authors. This distribution is done according to when the Upvote is given for its publication, as follows:

TimeProfit
0 to 2 minutes100% SP for the author
3 to 14 minutes10% SP of 25% for the curator
15 to 26 minutes50% SP of 25% for the curator
27 to 30 minutes90% SP of 25% for the curator
After 30 minutes100% SP of 25% for the curator

Keep in mind that these percentages apply as long as the post isn't popular, i.e. ideally vote after 30 minutes but be the first 10 voters, this is designed so boots don't retain most of the votes. .income.

Voting power

Now I know that many wonder: can I vote and with this get high SP? Well, no.

Please note that there is another concept called "Voting Power" which is our voting power on each post and refers to a percentage, and decreases as we vote. Therefore, the daily recount of votes must be done carefully so that it does not reach 0%.

What are the whales?

They are users who have a large amount of SP and with one vote can bring a lot of benefits to the post.

Finally, and as I explained in a previous post, Steemit is not a social network where you will see fast results, it's all a matter of dedication, commitment and persistence. But I assure you that when you manage to understand everything and make good use of the platform, you will be happy with the result.
