Contest: About what3words and how to use it

We have always looked for an accurate way to know about locations, and here is what3words, we do have Google maps but does it give us this address for every 3meter square with just 3 words as its name implies. These names are just random names assigned to every address and it is a fixed address which we can keep in our memory and say it out any time, this is really of help as we tend to forget some street names due to its native name, but with the three English dictionary based words, we won't suffer for this.

As I brought in earlier, what3words is a geocode system which is defined to access any location with a resolution of 3 meters. To make things easier, what3words encodes geographic coordinates into three simple and permanently fixed dictionary words. If we wanted to know where uyo is as the capital of the state Akwa-ibom in Nigeria, using the geographic coordinates which will show us these numbers 5.038963, 7.909470., can we take to memory all these numbers what if we just know these simple three numbers? ///modifiable.intestine.smoother, yes and yes we would chose this English words over those coordinates.

What3words has actually made locations simple to say and navigate, we can just say those three words without the dots via a phone or radio and it's done, easy to search, because those words are fixed permanently, which means if I search for uyo again, I will still be given that same 3 words.

What3words was founded by Chris Sheldrick, Jack Waley-Cohen, Mohan Ganesalingam and Michael Dent, they made this great geocode location a success, it was launched in July 2013. It is known that Sheldrick and Ganesalingam conceived the idea when Sheldrick was to get music instruments and band to it's venue, which using GPS coordinates to get his location, but when he made an error with one number, it led him to a wrong location entirely, so he decided to use words instead as they were easy to remember, it was later invested in and it became this big corporation we have today, and has helped millions of people in getting accurate addresses.

From the lessons we just had you should know about what3words, now how does it work?
What3words uses words which are assigned to streets, it doesn't just give locations to streets only but it is this accurate; it shows a specific location of each 3m square, from this photo we can see small square boxes, it indicates these 3 meters and each box has a specific name of what3words assigned to them.

For a better understanding I will show how it works and how to use them

1. To find the app, you can search what3words in your Google playstore ad cilck on install, it is also a site so you can search what3words on your browser.
   

2. To search a location, all you need to do is to click on the search button, and type the location you want to type in

3. You can change to satellite mode if you chose to view it that way

This option is used to search for locations in the site, you can also paste what3words address and check for it's location

once you click the option, you copy down to your clipboard the 3 words location which you can paste anywhere, easily.
