Hello friends, yesterday the Colombian Senate approved the regulation of cryptocurrency exchanges in the country. This debate held yesterday will finally be discussed in plenary, which is where the final decision is made, but the law for the regulation of Casa de Cambio has taken an important step in that country.
Senator Gustavo Moreno wants a hearing to be held as a member of the cryptocurrency industry with a view to the plenary as this will be key for legislators and senators to fully understand the importance of cryptocurrencies in the country.
Gustavo Moreno, who is one of the senators defending the bill, called for a "broad and deep" hearing with legislators and industry representatives before the Senate plenary. This, so that aspects related to the legislative proposal are clarified.
Moreno affirms that there are large companies in Colombia that move large amounts of money in bitcoin and other crypto assets and many citizens in Colombia that have bitcoin and there is no type of regulation in this regard, a company like Fintech is one of the largest in cryptocurrencies. their positive vote for the approval that the Colombian congress plans to give.
Although bitcoin currently does not have any type of regulation in the country, what it plans to do is put the country's exchanges in the eye of the hurricane to avoid any type of scam for Colombian citizens who wish to operate in said exchangers since that lately there is a wave of scams with cryptocurrencies in the country.
I think this is good for the bitcoin industry in Colombia. Regulating the use of bitcoin and establishing laws that are favorable to users is a way of guaranteeing that our currencies will be safe in any exchange house in the country. But for this approval to be valid, it has to go through a long process that in the end the last word will be given by Gustavo Petro, President of the Republic of Colombia.
Finally, it is likely that this law, which is unknown in what it can benefit the bitcoiner population, will be approved this year, but according to Senator Gustavo Moreno, the law that is being approved and will be under discussion for this next month gives the industry a go-ahead. of cryptocurrencies.
