In order to rob an ATM, the thief had to take advantage of a security breach that allowed him access to all the funds in the ATM. According to the attacker, he introduced an application in the interface that allowed him direct access. It is incredible that an ATM with blockchain technology is capable of being hacked by a simple computer thief so to speak.

Overall Bytes. Who is the company in charge of these ATMs explained in a statement

“The attacker uploaded his own application directly to the application server using the administration interface. The application server was configured by default to start applications in the deployment folder of it ”

The company also warned that users take security measures to protect their funds and personal information. I don't know how far this computer hacker could have gotten and what additional information he could have obtained from the ATM, but I can be sure that the attacks on ATMs that are usually vulnerable to these attacks due to their location where they are far from the sight of a person who supervises the attacks will continue more frequently.

The incredible thing is that the American company has 9,516 ATMs distributed among the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and El Salvador. In the link that I gave earlier there, the company shows the addresses where the funds were transferred plus 3 IPs used by the attacker. .

Which made it easy for you to create an administrator user remotely through the ATM administrative interface. In my personal opinion, I think that the attacker has experience in the software that the ATM uses, so it makes me understand that he may be a former employee of said company, it may be that he is wrong, but the easy way to steal Bitcoin ATMs They leave a lot to think about.
